The discussion forums are pretty bad, but at least their buy/sell forum is great for getting cheap used stuff from people who upgrade as obsessively as Apple fanbois, with relatively low chance of getting scammed compared to the rest of the interwebs.

what? no, all the ai is in the gpu, have people taken crazy pills or something?
If you think a single GPU is going to do something all that “deep” without at bare minimum hundreds of hours to start then I don’t think you understand how machine learning works.

I might be deficient in how they are doing it and they have revolutionized the industry. If that is the case crypto might not be killing the prices on these and instead it will be ML cluster farms.

it's not doing anything that complex

Then you don’t need it and having it as a selling point, actually you are making it THE selling point, is not helping.

Machine learning isn’t exactly “complex” but the amount of power dedicated to it directly impacts the benefits derived. Like I said a single GPU won’t give you any impact on real time gameplay without hundreds of hours as a baseline for single digit FPS improvements. Pre rendered cutscenes would benefit greatly though of course. Like in the video they showed ....

I will eventually buy one of these, maybe two. I am not talking you out of buying one especially if you are a gen behind. Stop trying to say that anyone who doesn’t drink the koolaid is wrong though.

what is this nonsense lol, the tensor cores are the ai that figures out if something is worth smoothing or not which doesn't require an internet connection, why the emotional content?

you're the one making outrageous claims about always needing an internet connection to use a gpu feature, like seriously, wth are you talking about "drinking coolaid" when I point out how ridiculous that is?

Machine learning works on iteration. Millions of samples of the same exact scenario.

Is it odd that I read that in arnolds voice?

big data is all the rage now but that's not required to accomplish a task to figure out how much gpu power it would take to make something look rounder and if it was worth gpu power or not. Apparently clouds take a disproportionate amount of gpu power to AA.

It does if it is computing in real time or this wouldn’t even be a feature to turn off or on.

If it’s merely deciding which graphic options to completely disable for something like a cloud there is nothing “deep” about it. They can do all that with the in game engine and not at a hardware level.

the best part of this list of definitive statements is, is how purely speculative it is.

It comes with a lot more actual experience behind it than your statement of “DLSS is a game changer, but it’s not hard to do at all” in all of its two sided glory.

I want a machine learning option in games where I can manually feed it video data to learn from.

Then I can insert 1,000 hours of kpop into it and see what happens.

I don't know, there doesn't really seem to be much room for speculation there.

always needing an internet connection to use a gpu feature

I can't for the life of me remember what it was about, but I read/watched something recently about a real time downloading of shaders or textures or something from a database generated by crowd sourcing game scenes based on hardware profiles. Something along the lines of loading textures, but from the 'cloud'

I want a machine learning option in games where I can manually feed it video data to learn from.

Then I can insert 1,000 hours of kpop into it and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure 5 hours would suffice to cover every single nuance in kpop

The only thing that's speculative here is how much of a shill you are.

why say that I don't care either way, some people are pretty mad for some reason though, make stuff up.

LOL at them only being 27", and even more at the absolutely fucking ridiculous $400 Nvidia tax.

I don't know who they're sourcing panels from (probably LG) but based on previous ones I've owned I wouldn't pay $900+ for an Acer monitor unless it had all those features and was 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide.
