Another interesting thing about his casting is that he drew all that SJW outrage about his comments regarding dating in the #MeToo movement. He eventually apologized for it. So, how that might factor in at all with the special victim olympics writing team could be interesting.

I think getting up in arms about SJW stuff is a bit premature. Much of Hollywood is either SJW believers or those who get in line, but they still produce a lot of good shit. I'd wait for the finished product before passing judgment.

Even if Ben Affleck was Geralt?

meh. Cavill is a fine actor and can easily play a good Geralt.

I'm muuuuuch more afraid this thing is going to be complete shit from that pic of the writer's room.

Yah Cavil respects nerd communities, so I'm sure he's conscious of the fandom. Only thing is he's a little young IMO. Maybe this is a young Geralt story? Mads Mikkelson, or that bad guy from Avatar are better choices. Even Andrew Lincoln, shit. But yah I agree w/ E elidib , that shit posted by Fedor is cringy.

Honestly with his role in MI:6 as ruthless assassin I think he could do a fine job as gerralt and he clearly gets the source material which helps a lot.

He also brings a major name to the show, which really helps get viewers.

Imagine to the casual fan, they see a game of thrones type show with Superman? I bet a lot will try it.

I am ok with it, and yes this will be a younger Geralt based on the books. 15 to 20 years pass from the first book to the games if I remember correctly.

I also think Mads is ideal. But I think action will be better with cavil.

I’ve warmed to the casting but as others mentioned, writers room is a deal breaker.

They want a non-white lead based in a predominantly white country?

Lol. They can't even pretend that whoever they cast was just "best for the role" now. IOOTI

I've always been a fan of Cavill, and I like the fact that someone with some star recognition is being used so hopefully it doesn't get a Legends of the Seeker-type treatment. I worry about that writers room, of course, but I'll wait and see. I'm vastly more interested in this now though than I was.

Also, when they actually let him grow his beard out more, dye that shit white and he's really not that far off from Geralt.
