His USB2 (I think it's called Gale Unleashed) is extremely good and makes him one of the higher tier wind dps (especially after storm ride releases next month, the new 5 hitter wind thief skill). You kind of want his LMR2 to combo with it though (dualcast wind) because if a unit doesn't dualcast, they aren't at the top of the meta these days....

Even as a standalone though it's great.

Finally got around to clearing all of the latest record dungeons (especially because the missions to clear them are time limited). Once you clear the last required dungeon it unlocks higher stat caps for crystal water. I went ahead and maxed out Palom, Elarra, Onion, and Bartz to the new crystal water stat caps.

The Zidane vs Steiner duel can be tricky, but it's not bad to master once you figure out the gimmick. Let Steiner take the first hit (unbuffed) from Zidane to drop his health low, then have Tyro draw fire and don't heal Steiner so his minus strike hits really hard. Then just hope Zidane doesn't use an AoE.

I think I decided to do all of the parade draws because I have some extra mithril I was going to use chasing Laguna chain. Later tonight I'll do them all at once (at least the ones that have been released so far). Will update later about how it went

This so many times. I struck out HARD on Bartz ASB during his banner (was something like 450 mithril and I missed it) so I was gonna go for round two on fest banner. Now it's gone, and the only chance is that trash tier FF5 banner coming up in a few weeks.... yeah, no thanks.

Banner1 got a lot better for me personally though. That being said, it's an earth banner, and if I can beat the magicite this saturday without it, I'm passing, because after this magicite boss, earth is irrelevant for the next 8 months of forseeable future.

Couldn't let Sinzar one-up me with that Zack chain so I pulled Gilg chain from tonight's parade draw. lolol

I've gotten 2 USBs and 1 CSB from the realm pull and every single one of them was a fucking dupe... seriously game?

Going to put whatever is left of my mythril on banner 1 for Red XIII's chain, although now the BSBs are dupe city for me. The only USB I have from there is Maria's... hope my realm pull luck doesn't persist till then.

My RoP has been pretty crappy. The 6*s were Machina USB, Squall USB1, Galuf chain dupe. As an aside, I just finished all the elite realm dungeons. Crazy how long that took.

With our first 5* magicite releasing tomorrow evening, I decided to give one final kill on all eight current 4* magicite bosses to see how my teams have progressed. Here's a video of each and the team I used:

Maliris -- 19 seconds -- Shelke, Tidus, Onion, Bartz, Elarra
Isgebind -- 22 seconds -- Locke, Onion, Bartz, Galuf, Elarra
Tiamat -- 19 seconds -- Snow, Elarra, Laguna, Squall, Ayame
Midgardsormr -- 18 seconds -- Zack, Zidane, Onion, Bartz, Elarra
Ixion -- 17 seconds -- Galuf, Bartz, Elarra, Lenna, Maria
Kraken -- 14 seconds -- Ramza, Elarra, Garnet, Palom, Shantotto
Siren -- 20 seconds -- Shadow, Yshtola, Elarra, Seifer, Raines
Hades -- 28 seconds -- Orlandeau, Ramza, Elarra, Marche, Larsa

Elarra (with USB) is the only character that makes an appearance in all 8 magicite for my teams. It's worth chasing her USB if you missed it last festival! Bartz with USB1 was also MVP on his four primary elements, so he's a good choice for the USB select banner coming in a week or two, for anyone undecided on who to choose.

I'm undecided who I'm going to choose for my USB select...

Some amazing times there!

I'm slower but my approach to prepare for 5* was to try and sub 30 them all with a Physical and a Magic team. Think I got all of them with Physical but couldn't clear Dark/Holy/Fire with Magic. I didn't really try with Dark/Holy and they are released last in 6-7 months, but my Water Magic is really shitty and I have Gogo(V) and Rydia BSBs. I wonder if I should have used Vivi dual casting Vortex off his fire USB?

We don't have Stone Press yet, so Quetzcotl may have to wait a few days, but I got Behemoth King in 1m 4s:


I was confident in my earth mage team.... but LOL @ my arrogance. I had to go to a mostly turtle comp and slowly work him down to win. Didn't even get mastery, only expert. I'm sure I can improve my lineup some, but man, I knew these 5* magicites were going to be hard, but..... yeah, they are.

Made some team adjustments and got my Behemoth King down to 55 seconds.... but it's still only Expert credit (1 star lost for actions, 2 for damage). This is annoying. I did waste a lot of actions like re-casting Shell multiple times just for soulgauge, but I guess I need to avoid that...


Edit: Got 4 kills in and used Arcana to max a Behemoth magicite to lvl 99. Need a break for now, all 4 kills were only Expert. I don't know how I can get my time down. Team I've been using:

Onion -- Meltdown, Chain Stonega -- mUSB
Galuf -- Gaia Rush, Protectga -- CSB
Elarra -- Curada, Shellga -- USB and BSB
Shelke -- Entrust, Wrath -- no sb
Maria -- Chain Stonega -- BSB

Shelke feeds all her gauges to Elarra so she can do a BSB (last stand) or instant USB on most rounds. If I try to fit in more DPS I get destroyed by the incoming damage. I can still improve, and I need to memorize the bosses patterns better. I just want to champion it one time for the crystals.... don't care if all future farm kills are novice rank. I think for the optimal deck vs water magicite next month we need 16 copies of both magicites, so 32 kills in total between them both. Four down, 28 to go....

Also, I have a raging hate for Dena right now because they refuse to give us the SSB select banners. Not having Edge's SSB is completely stupid. I'm forced to do this fight on extreme hard mode without it.
