the guy was pretty fucking solid for most of his career. he had some turkeys later in the 90s, but just about every director overstays their welcome. Carpenter had many iconic films.

Prince of Darkness is still one of my favorite horror movies to this day. I always harped for a sequel, which they set up perfectly, but sadly, it never materialized.

Then again, I still have not forgiven Carpenter for the abomination that was Escape from L.A. Such a complete shit-show to such an awesome original.

So perhaps it's a good thing a sequel to PoD was never made.

The whole goddamn soundtrack is awesome.

Additionally, it contains a fantastic song by the most criminally underrated band of the 90's, Stabbing Westward.

Yeah, unless my high school was some weird outlier. JNCOs gapped quite a few groups, most were white trash, but would span stabbing westward to deftones to 311 to korn to kottonmouth kings

I wore JNCOs. I am ashamed of it, but it's part of my personal history so I need to wear that badge. Stabbing Westward had a single song that was catchy, IIRC.

I love Halloween movies. It's my favorite horror series of all-time. I'd almost put Friday the 13th ahead of it if it weren't for Jason in Space. The Friday the 13th reboot was one of the best reboots I've ever seen. The Halloween reboot by Rob Zombie was really good too, except he went and made that AWFUL sequel.

Will be seeing this opening weekend for sure.

That said, I think most would agree they would rather be a recovering JNCO user than a Stabbing Westward fan.

There was a spectrum. You're alright if you're the guy that wore JNCOs. You're not okay if you liked Invader Zim and wore DBZ silkscreen button-downs.

Fuck you, JNCO may have gone out of style but DBZ silk screen button downs are timeless.

I knew a guy that wore JNCOs everyday, and each day topped it with a different button down from hot topic or walmart that featured a daily rotation of at least 2 of these items on each shirt:
