Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)

Not getting the deadpool thing. That's his voice. Big surprise. Jokes are in a different place though. People tryna be edgy. That trailer was fantastic.

Starting to see a few diehard pokemon fanbois come out on the internet for this one. They somehow think that Reynolds is negligible and simply having a pokemon movie itself is going to drive hordes of millennials to the theaters and it would still be a blockbluster even without him. He's going to double (or more) the gross for it and no amount of 90s nostalgia can do that.

why the movie will be a success seems like one of the dumber internet arguments to get into. I assume reddit /r/pokemon is where I should go to see it?

I get it to an extent. You have such an association with an actors voice that it kind of takes you out of the other movie.

It was impossible to take Jeff bridges seriously in Arlington Road just because it came out right after the big Lebowski.

I wonder what Dragonite would look like in this movie?

Can they even show Jinx?

This is going to make bazillions of dollars.

Like a much bigger, thicker Charizard. Charizards are only about 5 feet tall, Dragonites are about 7 feet tall and weigh well over twice as much.

When I saw that I assumed Mr Mime used Light Screen / Reflect and that's what Pikachu slammed into.

I used to think Mr Mime was one of the worst Pokemon designs, until the game where they first animated him and he instantly became one of my favorites. The way he moves cracks me up and it's really different from all the other Pokemon.

Dude I cannot wait for this.
