I'd rather an overpriced game than one using some bullshit Korean MMO model to boost your character/account or design gameplay mechanics that all but require $$$$$ to do anything.

Battlefront got shit on because it was pay 2 win

They removed the cards and it turned out to be decent game a month later.

I guess when this goes free to play it’ll finally be on par with Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Those were the good ole fucking days of 80s-90s. Go to grocery store with a few bags, and have the plebs count them for you and give you a slip. Sadly those days are gone around here.

Well hell, for $500 of them it might be worth a trip up here to throw Thumb to do it, haha.

That’s a low bar.

Battlefront 2 was Pay to win for all of like 2 days lol, pre release. By the time it released it was all taken out. And people still talk about it like some big fucking tragedy happened.

That's because EA gets more hate than Donald Trump.

One thing gamers need to be careful about is knee jerk reactions, though. Gamers complain companies don’t try new things, then bitch when they do. “I want something new, but the same!”

Splinter cell pandora tomorrow multiplayer was a risk with effort that paid off. Fallout 76 is a reskin from a failed studio investment to recoup costs hap hazardly in a genre in which a lot of games do it better (on indie budgets no less).

They didn’t take a risk here. They thought fallout fans were gullible and knowingly tried to cash in on it while laughing all the way to the bank - and it’s backfiring in glorious and deserved fashion.

I don't regret purchasing this... I do regret not waiting to purchase it much cheaper. I bit the early bullet because lots of my single/kidless friends are playing, and the way they consume stuff, it's get on the bandwagon and enjoy the co-op, or forever pug/solo. I get a discount from work, so I only paid 50, but was still too much. To be transparent, I'm salty as hell at no ultrawide support, otherwise I'm craving the new exploration. Not a huge fan of the find the story, breadcrumb trail on phonics approach, but the little I did read in my brief 4-5hrs in the game was enjoyable. It is hard to go back to reading everything, voice over is so predominant now that it is hard to revert. I still remember the first Mass Effect and finding all the voice over codex entries, I fell in love, and ate most of my meals just learning about this awesome game universe. Even just paying 1 or 2 different voice actors to do narrated Fallout themed codex entries, would have breathed some much needed life into this.

FO76 lacks polish, and needs to get a better grip on it's content identity to finish getting some of basic stuff on point. It's a weird game, even just the little that I've played, you can see the little bits of time, care, and attention that I am accustom to, but they took an engine and game format that suffers heavily from bugs when given ample time and resources, and tried to slap dash something together. The results speak for themselves. I'm tentatively eager for updates and bug fixes, so this game can grow into something good, extremely sad that Bethesda forgot that gamers don't really care who does it first, it's who does it the best, so not this.

I dunoo. I think that I have become so cynical over the MMO market that I will shit on anything that comes out with an always online attachment, now a days.

Meh. Just leave be with my single player games and get off my lawn.

We have like $500 worth of cans in my garage. Yeah, yeah, just fucking lazy and cant stand taking them back and flipping them into counting machines one by one. Anyway this past weekend I told my 16 yr old I would buy him a game if we took some of them back. Needless to say he said fuck yeah!

So after the chore were at the game store and hes deciding between this and RDR2, he made the bad choice.
All I learned from this was that I should have had a child, preferably a son to save me killing teenage boys later in his life, so I not only get a personal chore slave but I could reward them with games for it and then play them. Essentially getting work done at no additional cost. I'd have to teach them how to farm food and weave clothing though.

The civil war era Gatling gun is pretty fun. Uses the same 5mm ammo as a minigun and is slower because you crank it, but each round hits a lot harder. Also got an orbital strike beacon from the Enclave, but to make new ones you need materials only available in freshly nuked zones. On the subject of the Enclave, MODUS has a real Zola vibe from Captain America 2 which I am sure is intentional. On the subject of nukes, the aftermath is really realistic in terms of how it looks. I watched one outside my house window. My house location actually works out also because ghoul/scorched officers with nuke code fragments spawn nearby.

I had to run a quest after to get a military rank. Part of basic training was communist detection. The guilty one was the kid who thought FDR was the best president lol.

Still playing and still having fun. Again maybe it is just the way I approach Fallout games, but 76 is better than FO4 in every aspect of the game. It boggles my mind that anyone could enjoy FO4 and hate 76.

When no one buys it at that price, it should tank down to 19 bucks where it belongs along with the other early access titles.
