GRRM retired from this series, he handed the keys over to D&D. its theirs now to do with it what they want. they have no need to throw curveballs because they are finishing the thing GRRM was unable to. expect some fan favorites living to the end, but maybe some shocks. i'm pretty sure not-a-villain-cersei will die. dany will die, tyrion will live. arya will die. jon snow will live. all the dragons will die. sansa will live, jorah, dead, jaime , dead, bronn, dead, sam and his stupid woman will live and bran will die by warging into a dragon saving whats left ofg westeros. most of westeros is going to get fucked. all the sea people will die.

Right D&D call the shots. This is their ending.

The show product dominated the decision-making. GRRM is involved in name-only for this season.

What I dont get is how the same show produces the Sand Snake fiasco and also the Mountain and the Viper fight.

I don't know if they'll kill Dany or Jon. One of them is gonna die the heroic death. I'm guessing it's Jon though and not Dany.

HBO is gonna kill off a strong female lead (i'm sure that's how it's viewed) in one of their more popular series? GRRM would do it. He'd kill her without any ceremony, too. "Oops.. and then Dany caught a bad flu and died. moving on..."

They're after different things. GRRM was out to write some scenes, and everything serviced that. And he did not give a FUCK about his next job. The current show runners have to be thinking about their next project, so they're going to be after the acclaim.

Gurlpower will absolutely win the day.

Fairly sure Jon dies. He was never alive.

The magic is explained in the books very loosely and many hints have been dropped in the books. Other forums have more details on Jon's death.

Also the actors comments on his potential death were very revealing. Calling it again-- Jon is dead.

I always had the impression that at the conclusion of the story we'll have forged a new kingdom, magic will have fully returned to the realm, and hence forth shall be the summer that never ends. It's ultimately the story of how a new golden era of peace and prosperity was brought into being.

I never really thought of this as a "nearly everyone is gonna be dead" kind of thing even with all the dying.

no, thats not gonna work because there are already several "strong female characters" in this show. more than half of them will die by the end of the last episode.
i seriously doubt Dany lives to the end. nobody gives a fuck who lives or dies by the last episode because the show is fucking over forever. they all basically died.

Hope it's not as easy as that but yes, essentially. Even lotr with its happy old ending had the scouring and Frodo permanently fucked. Not sure about magic coming back. Don't think it will end as dark or as clean as we think but I want Sam, Dany, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Jaime and Jon to die. Cersei is obviously dying. I want Tyrion to live. Brienne might live. Not sure about the rest.

Either way your post is the hippiest outcome imaginable you degenerate.

If they did a spinoff of Oberyn's adventures before GoT I'd watch the shit out of it.

Watching this again, I am still irked by the scene in Season 1 where Jamie kills Neds best swordsman Jory Cassel in about 3 seconds thru the eye, but is unable to touch fat Ned in swordplay until the Antifa guard cheapshots him.

As for Season 8. I expect Sansa, Bran, Sam and Arya will survive but after that, I doubt many more make it to the very end.

That’s because Jaime didn’t want to kill him and start the war: he was toying with Ned

My issue with dual-wielding is not specifically changing Dayne to be a dual-wielder but rather how absurdly impractical and stupid the use of two weapons is, especially when you're badly outnumbered against opponents who all have shields. Dayne should have died in seconds...except his opponents just stood around waiting to fight one of the most renowned fighters in the land one vs one instead of pressing their numbers advantage. The fight choreography itself was also terrible, with everyone who fought him very obviously swinging into his blocks instead of trying to kill him.

It was basically a cheeseball anime fight but without the advantage that animated shows have in that they can take creative liberty with the laws of physics to make the action look good.

I’m struggling to read this post without picturing you picking old Cheetos out of your pelvic fat rolls while in the basement wearing a T shirt with no less than three howling wolves and two moons on it.

I do feel like the show will end with Sam returning to the Citadel to record the history of what he sees... that feels like a typical way to end this kind of show. That’s not something GRRM would do to end the book so my point is Sam will live but probably everyone else will die.

Not Jaime to kill Cersei? I guess in order to have a redemption arc, you actually have to kill a villain.

Arya has let to learn what role Jaqen H'ghar and the Faceless Men played in the death of her father and take a torch to the entire House of Black and White.

We've all got our pet arcs we're cheering for.
