Yup said fuck this shit and let my accounts expire. Game has turned into a complete steaming pile of shit. Leaving it installed in case Blizzard rakes the forest and stops the fire though.

I refuse to call them Blizzard.

That company was sold and is no longer the same.

I will only call them Activision or ActiBlizzard now.

The giant fucking sword issue is just maddening... Everyone, including the players, seems more interested in what Azerite can do to make everything more powerful rather than deal with the mortal wound to the planet.

Having said that I now wonder if this isn't meant to be some sort of allegory.

I expected the reveal to be that the sword itself was driving people on both sides to violence through some malign psychic influence. That's why, despite everything accomplished in Legion, the two sides were back at each other's throats.

Maybe one of the sword's powers is to make everyone forget it exists. How avante garde.

If it does, it would mean the void had some sort of influence over Sargeras which doesn't really work without completely destroying any meaning he had as a character. So yeah, that's probably what it is.

The story of Warcraft seems to always be someone causing war/suffering/death in order to better prepare everyone to fight off an allegedly more dangerous foe which is also, in turn, doing the same thing.

Would be quasi poetic if we didn't inevitably beat them by getting 20 people to not stand in fire.

I'm sure this will have something to do with it, but more in the lines of "The sword pierced a leyline that was improsining N'zoth! The barrier has weakened and his influence is spreading!"

Ive always felt like ACTIblizzard has had a lot of intriguing story components that they could use, like the sword, that they just... dont. Or, at best, use them to quickly trampoline to something entirely new and different. Leaving the actual mystical part (the sword) being forgotten. I would much rather buy into the lore that the Sword is causing malcontent on both sides, reigniting the war between Horde and Alliance. But hey, when has WoW ever had a strong background in story telling.

Sargeras did nothing wrong.

It's true. He wanted to kill the ultimate evil of the universe by any means necessary, and we stopped him. Now old gods are infecting the planet completely uncontested.

Thanks, Sylvbama

Wasn't the whole idea behind us sacrificing our artifact weapons was to fix the issue with the sword? Did that even happen? I don't remember seeing fuck all about it in-game. Googling just shows shit about it being on the PTR at some point. Was this just some throwaway content that you can't even access anymore?

Yeah, you basically Harry Potter/Voldemort wands with your artifact weapon to nullify the energy of the sword, but the actual sword and wound remained and azerite is still spewing out.

Uncontested? They're all jobbers. The last one died after losing a game of basketball.

Talked about this online with a pal today. Once the orcs were turned into some shamanistic race with conflicted feelings it got real gay.

You think most people take longer then an hour a level? I don't do islands or anything I just follow the story quests. I do think they need to do more with the story quests givers like FF14. Give them a different icon. Seriously though you think people are taking longer then that? I know all my RL friends made fun of me because I was the slowest on launch day and with alts.

kaid kaid - the discussion started because someone claimed the invasions wouldn't be legion level of good for exp. If they are that's cool. I still don't think it would help with player retention at all. There are problems with BFA and making leveling faster doesn't cure that at all.

Last night I was leveling an alt for the heritage armor. At level 35 I'm in STV. It brings back some memories. I haven't been here since like month 4 of vanilla for more then fishing. Anyways some level 110 corpse camped me for 30 minutes. It didn't particularly bother me. I just went to stormwind and turned warmode off. I just wonder what someone gets out of being 110 corpse camping someone who is 35. My guess is they suck at pvp and it's the only way they can get kills. Even then I think I would get bored.

Ironically world pvp was basically always about max level people murdering low levels who had no ability to fight back. A lot of people who say they want world pvp really just want to grief others with no consequence. That is why they through a fit when in beta scaling worked all the way down so level 20s could successfully defend themselves.

Well we did "diffuse" the sword by containing its power with the artifacts so its not like they did nothing. The other point is do the various races actually have any ability/technology to remove a sword that a giant god thing punctured your planet with? What do you cut it with its basically a giant mountain made of god knows what metal.

Also I think it should be noted that doing the champions of azeroth stuff you are constantly being scolded about people drinking the blood of azeroth or whatever and every rep level till revered you get sent back to talk to magni and stare at the giant ass sword. So its not like the sword is forgotten but more of we did what we could for now hopefully we figure some shit out as we go to heal the planet before we are all fucked.
