His wife is also worth a few million herself, she was one of the main casting directors for Buffy and Angel back in the day.

They live in Long Beach where the median household income is $53k so I’m sure they do just fine.

Never said he was trading handjobs for meth, but i'm pretty sure he could squeeze in a leading role on a hit TV show between his roles as "teen in van" and as camerman on "Rockin' With Roseann"

This Michael Fishman white knighting might be the weirdest derail I've ever been involved in

he has to do press. It's a business.

He is a professional. He might be goofy rich, but there is still an ethic to it. You hitch for a little then it's time to circle the wagons and make the best of it.

Early on the show, the show was a must have for ABC now it has under 50% the ratings of Roseanne
on the path to be just another middling ABC show.

so in his best interest to play nice now

- side note
ABC is now in 4th place of the networks
down 18.5% in the 18-49 Demo and 11% in total viewers from fall 2017

Supposedly they are in talks for a 13 episode season renewal and are doing salary negotiations atm. Meaning everyone gets a pay cut or no new season.

Well, I mean, they fucked up.

Roseanne was always a show about white trash middle america. This makes it pretty much a Republican show. And that was always a little bit weird. They've tried to use it as a platform for something else, and it flat out don't fit. And it's not like that was a surprise. Roseanne herself made the same mistake. It's why her final season where she won the lottery fell so flat. I stopped watching that season personally, but I expect that in hindsight she might have had a few things to say about striking it rich that were probably worth listening to and probably came from the heart in some strangely distored autobiographical way. Ain't nobody wants to hear it though, then or now.

The best case for John Goodman is to refuse the pay cut and walk away.

he will take the cut if they want him to. if he's the sole holdout then it makes him look like a greedy asshole and might anger The Mouse.
Pixar payday will make up for it. Sully is probably his most commercially successful role of all time.

Making it about a family that barley functions, lives paycheck to paycheck, and struggles to make the right choices doesn't make it Republican; it makes it relatable to more than half the fucking country.

People from all walks of life appreciated the honesty of the show and thst it was unapologetically working class. Equating white trash to Republican is hysterical since all the true white trash rednecks are Democrat since they don't want to lose their free shit. The Repubs that liked the Connor family was happy to see a struggling family that paid their fucking taxes.
