Spicy food will do it. It's very common among Latin Americans for this reason. I actually looked it up when I noticed a lot of them in our plants were getting their gallbladder removed.

Gallstones are multifactorial and some people have genes which make them predisposed and estrogen in women is a large contributing factor but the other part of that equation is diet. The gallbladder produces bile which helps emulsify fats in our diet. Use it too much, stones.

High-fat foods include:
  • Fried foods, like french fries and potato chips.
  • High-fat meats, such as bacon, bologna, sausage, ground beef, and ribs.
  • High-fat dairy products, such as butter, cheese, ice cream, cream, whole milk, and sour cream.
  • Pizza.
  • Foods made with lard or butter.
  • Creamy soups or sauces.
  • Meat gravies.
  • Chocolate.
Don't be from New Zealand, don't be woman, don't eat anything talked about in this thread.

i had their 5 dolar giant bacon cheeseburger junior combo on saturday. its pretty fucking sweet. bacon chbgr. fries, coke and nugs with sweet & sour sauce.

cant argue with anything in that video. i live in that area and i have been near that costco a few times and the last thing i would do is buy a fucking pizza from there. there are so many historic pizzrias around here that it would be fucking silly to grab a shit pie when there are a dozen others a dozen times better sitting within a few miles of Clifton.

It's a problem that started way before Hawaii. When I was in high school, I had heart burn (acid reflux) all the fucking time. It rarely went away. But eventually... it did. And it stayed away for YEARS. I could eat fucking anything and never had heart burn from doing so. Every now and then (like annually), I would try something that would cause it to act up. Turns out the constant heart burn was a direct result of gallstones. I got so used to the constant heart burn, that I no longer felt it anymore. So the annual times that it cropped up was when it jumped above my "normal tolerance level" and caused me indigestion. I've had gallstones (to some degree) since I was a teenager. I'm 37 now. I finally had an ultrasound of my liver due to higher liver enzymes where the radiologist noticed that my gallbladder was jam packed with stones and sludge. IE - Non functional. That's the entire reason I got the surgery. I probably would have been fine for the long haul, but if one of the many stones fell into the tract that the bile roles down and got stuck, it could have become fatal. So it was safer for me to get it removed than roll the dice and hope nothing happens.

So now I don't have a gallbladder. The end. Some of you might be in a similar situation and not even realize it. I'm glad that my rheumatologist (arthritis doctor) had me get the ultrasound after my liver enzymes were higher than normal. My previous doctor in PA always saw the enzymes but never cared to look into it. Just assumed that's how my body operated. Well, that is how my body operates, there isn't anything wrong with the liver. But having that ultrasound showed a potentially much bigger problem. So all is good in the end.

Well now that it's over I can tell you the horror story of my boss at my first job. Super hot and very nice lady, used to pay me in beer to do her college homework.

Went in for a gallbladder removal for some reason I can't remember. Opened her up and it was riddled with cancer, but also it had spread to the rest of her body and she died within a couple weeks. Very tragic. She had some glorious titties that I got to see once. And at 16 you know that I kept that shit in the bank for years.

Those Doritos flaming nacho might be my number 1 now after finishing the bag. Perfection.

That's actually really sad. I take it she was relatively young?

I've never had heartburn before. Guess I'm lucky.

She was pretty young , like 30? She had two daughters and a husband and it was kind of heartbreaking because her husband worked there too (at.another one of our stores). Her daughter's looked identical to her and were super young.
