I think one thing to note is CD projekt pay their staff pretty badly. I think if a bigger player really wants to poach their talent they are ripe for that to happen.

Pretty big news since he was the creative director of one of the most anticipated titles in the market since RDR2. And also it's news because he moved from a great company to a lack luster stalling pile of rubbish who is out of touch with their customers. And we all know what happens when these idiots start chasing the cash (including deveopment companies who sell out)
This shit has blown up because it's a slow news day, shitting on blizzard is en-vogue, and CB2077 is hyped to hell and back. Nobody even knew this guys' name 24 hours ago. On top of that, we have no fucking clue what he's going to be working on or what his contract is like. It's fucking gossip of the most inane sort perpetrated by the old bitties of gaming.

Especially when it involves a studio that has made some crazy popular games while at the same time paying their employees like shit. The fact they don't get poached more heavily from is really the only surprising thing.

Software developers are a dime a dozen. And the type of person who goes into game development instead of the much more lucrative and stable private sector for literally any other kind of software is the type of person who can easily be raked over the coals because "this is my passion project".

The guy isn't a software developer, he's a creative director. That's why it's interesting news to me anyway - from my perspective almost all of BFAs issues are in game design, not in any technical implementation or art.
