DS4W is pretty much obsolete for new PC games, provided you buy on Steam and not from the Chinese overlords. Steamworks DS4 support is a lot better, especially when using Bluetooth. Unless the developers are complete idiots, you also get Sony button prompts automatically.

Oh okay. Resolved. Seems the USB cable I was using didn't like that controller for some reason. Used a different one and it worked just fine. In Steam.

I wish I could play this, but I'm too fucking old. Played Bloodborne for about 8 hours and only reached the first boss twice, and got destroyed. :)

Can't decide between PC 1440 or 4k PS4 pro.

It does not have 4k on PS4 Pro.

PS4 Pro -> 1080 unlocked framerate averaging 45 FPS
PC -> Whatever you can handle supposedly.

Truth bro. It took me 13 hours of frustration in Central Yharnam before I loved Bloodborne. Follow a guide to get to the shortcuts and stuff because it is astonishing what you can miss. I am so looking forward going into Sekiro blind.

I can sympathize. I tried to play Nioh and just gave up after dying like 8 times in a row to a single spot in the first major level. Even if I was capable of really grasping these games, I lack the patience to get to that point. Sucks too as they all seem to have some really immersive gameplay and level design.

You just do a little better each time @Dom

That's where the lack of patience comes in. My interest in the genre isn't high enough to put in the time and energy required to get good at them. My dogshit reaction-speed doesn't help either. It's just not my kind of genre.

Nioh is in a place of it's own too you know. I didn't really like that one. Bloodborne is the crown jewel to me. DS3 and DS1 come after.

I played a bit of DS2 and took a couple bosses down, but the re-clearing mechanics made it a significant slog, and I never got much satisfaction out of beating the bosses, as it was just looking ahead to the next and the difficulties involved with that, so I wasn't getting any reward out of the experience. I also bought Bloodborne and never touched it. I just don't have the temperament for them I suppose. If they weren't some of the very few original & well-honed games, I wouldn't regret not getting into them at all. Maybe one day I'll get the urge and just binge them all and git gud in the process, but it's unlikely.

Bloodborne was my first "Souls" game. Took me a good 6 hours to even get anywhere, but I loved it

Some of the Souls clones aren't bad either for scratching that rare itch. The Surge and Lords of the Fallen aren't half bad, especially on sale. They're not on par with the Souls games of course, but definitely good times. Salt and Sanctuary is a great 2D clone homage to Dark Souls.
