What classic childhood movie would you like to be bastardized and remade by current hollywood.

Gremlins was a good suggestion, but first one that came to mind for me was Starship Troopers. Surprised they haven't gone after Back to the Future yet either

I am actually thankful they haven't gone after back to the future yet....it's one of the few franchises that i feel should be left as is.

Get someone like Josh Brolin to play Eastwood's role and hell half the actresses in Hollywood would be better than Sondra Locke. Keep it set in the 70's.

They'd have to use that Frank Frazetta poster or fucking cancel the whole thing.

There's a hulu series coming out that's basically a riff of The Last Starfighter. But it sounds real gay despite the budget (it stars the guy who played Peeta in the Hunger Games).

I still think they should reboot the script and make it about some aspie DOTA pro gamer who discovers that his twitch followers are actually a recruitment team from another dimension. When he arrives there he discovers that his cute korean chick rival has been using her pro skills to conquer the whole universe and he has to stop her.

Isnt Ready Player One something like a coming up reboot of Last Starfighter? I know the writer for it has some major hard-on to let it sit and rot. Spielberg was trying to get rights or licensing not too long ago.

Armada is prolly a better fit for Last Starfighter reboot. I think they're already making a Ready Player One adaptation tho.

Then about 10 years ago, they made a film . . . and did it all wrong. They used human actors and made it all real world.

It should have been a CGI film, recreating the old look and feel of the marionettes and the future / retro high tech world. Over the top rescue situations, it could have been so cool.

Hollywood, please again and do it right.

Always liked this movie when I was a kid, would be cool to see it with better special effects now, though.

I love this movie and while I think updated graphics would be amazing it would only be good with the cast in it and by Gilliam. I can't think of anyone I would be happy with cast in it today.
