I will kindly ask you not to mention that Phantom Menace was 22 years ago...it's bad enough that I've somehow gotten on the AARP mailing list. Given that we are past the heyday of both Saturday Morning and after school.cartoons, what is the primary vector to market to kids these days?

Tron 2.0, the game, was actually a decent evolution of the overall theme. With something like TRON you just have to be willing to embrace it as a fantasy rather than trying to ground it in any type of reality.

I'm honestly surprised it did $51M. The last few PIXAR movies have been released straight to Disney+ and even Encanto didn't really take off in terms of public perception until it hit D+ at Xmas. People have kinda got it programmed now that animated Disney = Disney+. Encanto hit $28.7M...

I do love how genuinely terrible nearly all the supers are when it comes to using their abilities.

Tried the demo for this and quite liked it. Very calming strategy puzzle sort of game with an interesting terraforming premise that requires you to go through stages of development finishing with recycling all your shit so you can do it in a new area.

Well the Tron Light cycle ride is gonna open soon in Disneyland and Disneyworld so they need to try and maximize the IP exposure while they can.

I'm thinking that 'temp V' may not be as temporary as they would like to make out. While lingering effects would be problematic for the desire to sell it as a weapon for the military to use, Voughts chemists don't seem to be terribly good at their jobs.

The reason I asked is that from an actual game design point of view (divorced from the content itself) the 4e rules are really nifty in terms of providing some specific structure to combat encounters. Its especially useful for players or GMs hat are a little less savvy on the rules and/or lack...

Margo working with the Ruskies is definitely gonna be her undoing, but they also don't have many other characters working at NASA now. Aleida and Danny are the best picks for heading up NASA in 2015,but there's really no 'leadership in the wings' characters to replace Margo this season...

Symmetra showing up in Ms. Marvel is something I should have seen coming and yet didn't. Looks like even if they aren't going full Inhuman they are at least doing something adjacent.

I swear I've asked this before... but I don't recall the answer: Is there a game that has taken up the torch of 4e and continued making material in the same style of that system as Pathfinder did for 3.5e? I really liked that system but I realize that anyone who wants to play "D&D" at this...

You would think at some point Vader would look at all the stormtroopers and think back to the clone troopers under his command who were tactical geniuses and go 'wtf...'. Maybe have HR hold some sort of seminar or drills or something.

I was a bit worried that it was gonna be somewhat Space Opera-ish with wacky races and psionics and stuff but it seems to be a very much hard sci-fi Foundation style game.

God damn this show makes me angry. I love alternative history stuff but it really burns when you think about what realistically might have been.

Starfield looking much less impressive but actually like a real game now and not just a bullshot. So that's a plus

They said all titles shown today would be released within the next 12 months so that's a heck of a statement. *edit* looks like it will include PS5, they just conveniently didn't mention Playstation during the Xbox presentation (which does make sense)

Redfall looks fun, but then again it looked fun last year too

I appreciate the technical artistry of the Forza engine... but man I could not possibly care less about the actual racing game.

It takes some serious trust to let someone convince you to make something that cringe-worthy.

I got this for my loves_horror_but_isnt_a_gamer fiance. The movie mode sounds like an ideal situation to let them explore the cool interactive nature of the piece without getting angry at the camera controls. (tried the Evil Dead game and spent most of the time either moving the camera or...

Watching NetflixGeeked and damn the kids are old enough now that there really has to be a time jump from 4 to 5. They accomplished a bit of that by making the jump to 'high school' in series 4 but even Erica is now old enough that she will need to be in High School by season 5. I'm thinking...

This. Its not as bad as Lost Ark, but at least there you have a situation where North American players are in a high-speed catch up to something many years old. Diablo Immortal has : Gear slot leveling Stats on items reroll Legendary extraction/inherit Charm advancement Helliquary...

Looks like its getting review bombed by an awkward coalition of 'anti-Woke' types and Indians who are incensed that it portrays a Pakistani family. There's also a wave of neckbeards who seem to think that they diversity-washed a character rather than creating a whole new character, which is...

The mom and the Italian technology sidekick are the best parts so far.

The lack of good mobile games is truly annoying. The form factor is itself ideal for a variety of casual experiences, but everyone just goes after blatant cash grab of microtransactions.

I didn't hate it. I like how they did things like the 'texting' via background graphics / changing neon etc. That and the ways they handled her overactive imagination work pretty well. Obviously they are eskewing the Terrigen Mists business, but the mom clearly seems to know something is up...

"This is coming dangerously close to hijinks"

Kripke was smart with this. Instead of doing a beat-for-bear adaptation of the original he instead chose to capture the spirit while staying true to the medium. The comic was a send up of superhero comics and the show is a send up of the MCU/DCEU with an added dose of reality TV and paparazzi...

Pleasedontsuck pleasedontsuck pleasedontsuck

I think their goal is to try and lure as many people into paying for a 30-day pass + a few $1.99 superbest deals as they can during the launch window. They waited to launch in a window post-graduation and yet pre-summer with a minimal number of new titles (and nothing AAA). They knew people...

Chase Crawford has himbo down to a fine art. It takes quite a bit of skill to play someone that convincingly dim.

The Immortals vs Shadow Clans thing was explained very badly... They had lots of cinematics and all that and yet never actually got around to explaining what the hell it was. I ended up just reading a news article which covered the whole deal in a paragraph.

Some of these short fan films are getting very good.... At least in terms of space battle stuff.

PUGing the first raid is ... unpleasant. I'm not quite sure what the hell they were thinking in terms of having 8 people groups for this. Its a 'sit on the shitter' game....

https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/news/hbo-max-cancels-raised-by-wolves-after-second-season/ Looks like the Tweet plea prompted Warner Bros to formally cancel it

the controls seem to lock up frequently on PC. I was at a point where I could only use basic attacks and needed to finish a rift and that was a hell of a not-fun time.
