    Bloodborne

You need at least 1 insight (rough analogue to humanity from Dks1) to enable leveling in Hunter's Dream. If you get a madman's knowledge, use it, but I think most people unlock it by engaging the Cleric Beast on the bridge. Starting a fight with any boss (I think?) gives you an insight.

    Spring Anime 2016 Thread

I tired really quickly of the "There's this organism on earth that served as the inspiration for this soldier here!" backstory preceding said soldier's valiant stand against overwhelming odds. It coulda been alright - I guess, but probably not - if it didn't have this fixation on interrupting...

I started and stopped the uncensored version of Martian Cockroaches With Abs. Thought it was fucking awful

    Brave Frontier

Yeah, think it's gonna be Rize for me and it becomes more obvious the longer I think on it. I'd choose Breaker, and I wouldn't scream if I pulled another immediately thereafter. I screamed when I chose Krantz before and pulled one the next day, and Mikael would be the same. And I've probably...

    Brave Frontier

The more I think on it, the more compelled I am to just use this UoC for a fucking Rize. Breaker's the best type, right? edit: Mikael is the other candidate, but the game has thrown pretty much every other mitigator at me. edit edit: actually, Piany's LS and BB are really, really nice too...

    DOOM

I'd buy it if they opted to reuse Quake 2's soundtrack.

    Street Fighter 5

Not really. I was able to play and love SFIV casually, but this game in its current state doesn't have anything to offer me. Will check back in a couple months

    Bloodborne

Lol, 5 of those 17 were spent booze running and another 5 were spent figuring out how to get to the DLC. Investigative journalism fail!

Enormous short position on Sqeenix stock in anticipation of Persona 5 commence!

    Bloodborne

I could work with the moveset of that whip-brandishing hunter (first mob you face), but it just wasn't worth it when a mistake cost me literally 90% of my life and two blood vials, especially since half a dozen swipes with my Hunter's Axe (two-handed, no less) took somewhere between a quarter...

Update: Gave up on the DLC at level 35!

    Bloodborne

Starting the dlc when I get home at like level 35. I'm not great at the game so I have a feeling I'll need to level some

    Brave Frontier

Not prepared at all. Been slackin' again. My only 7 star starter is Selena. Eze is max 6 and the rest are 3 and 4. Selena partially imped.

    Bloodborne

Lol, Ebrietas was the same for me. I just hacked away at her ass and only got hit once or twice. Easiest fight by far for me
  15. D

    Bloodborne

Logarius was by far the hardest for my on my first playthrough. You guys that uaven't played Demon's - there was a rumor a few months ago that a remaster was in the works. I guess it'd be like DSFix is to the console version of Dark Souls - higher-res and better framerate, but still pretty...

    Bloodborne

BSB down after 5 attempts, and, well - I'm not finding your assessment to hold true for Bloodborne and actually feel compelled to reevaluate the series difficulty hierarchy. This is the only entry out of all four where I've started a new character and found the difficulty comparable to the first...

    Bloodborne

Hmm, yeah I've got a save from right before the last fight that I used to get all endings. Having fun with this playthrough now, though. Decisions decisions.
  18. D

    Bloodborne

Against my better judgment I started this back up after being all of the Scholar of the First Sin dlc. Had to start over because my old save was corrupted for some reason, so this'll possibly mean I won't be playing Dark Souls 3 day one if I decide to do multiple playthroughs. For now, though...

    Brave Frontier

    I'll probably choose Mikael

    Dark Souls 3

Sheeeit, I work but that's not gonna stop me from picking it up at midnight and playing either until I go in to work or encounter a basilisk because those things scare the shit out of me

    Dark Souls 3

Give a no-shields run an honest go and you'll find you're getting better really quickly. I'm rocking Dark Drakeblood Greatsword or Icicle Rapier rh and Sunset Staff lh. Was originally trying a Hex run but I basically ended up with a dex build that can cast dark orb and dark weapon when needed...

    Dark Souls 3

Hah, shields just feel weird to me after Bb, but I had a hell of a lot of fun sword and boarding my first Souls 2 playthrough.

    Dark Souls 3

Holy hell, I fucking wrecked him next try. Eschewed all defense, donned Bracing Knuckle ring, anything to help with stamina, then two-handed a rapier. Dodged his shit, got 2-4 pokes in every time he whiffed. Beat him down so quickly he didn't ignite his sword until he was down to about 20% and I...

    Dark Souls 3

Took a few more cracks at the Fume Knight tonight. Attempt total is estimated at 15-20, but being sober definitely made it easier. I usually make it to his second phase now, after which I seem to lose any ability to dodge. He's gonna fucking die though.

    Wii U No More

That's a relief. I don't want to game on a fucking rearview mirror
  26. D

    Dark Souls 3

Agreed. Yearly releases aren't a bad thing with gameplay this sublime. Pretty impressive they've released three stellar games (yeah, I went there - Souls 2, for all its faults, is a masterpiece, if not on the level of its forbears) in three years. I wouldn't have thought they had the...

    Dark Souls 3

Rofl, had to make the same decision. Think I'll keep tabs on his nets and try to restore him to his current splendor when somebody bumps him one way or another

    Dark Souls 3

Cool! 3 Weeks to work up the courage to fight the Fume Knight again after he handed my ass to me a dozen times in twenty minutes

    Dark Souls 3

What do you mean it's like Demon's Souls? Apologies if every preview has made the answer obvious, but I haven't wanted to spoil the game. But since a poster on my favorite internet haunt is already playing it, I can't help but ask. Not in any way impugning your claim that it's like Demon's...

    Wii U No More

If it's a console/handheld hybrid and it's created in lieu of a dedicated handheld, it sounds pretty expensive for a goddamn handheld, which is what I'd use it for. Gamecube was the last Nintendo console I bought, but I have every handheld they've ever released. I know IOS/Droid are doing a lot...

    Brave Frontier

Bonnie's stats look insane, but her kit is kinda meh. Carrol is wow, but clashes with my team that already has Zeruiah, Allanon and Lafiel. Of the three new units, Sareas is the only one that looks interesting. Gem-saving commence!
  32. D

    Brave Frontier

Haha, wow. Was about to turn those and a few other special summon units in for points because I figured they weren't likely to get 7 star treatment.
  33. D

    Dark Souls 3

I can deal with 30 fps, though I suspect that I'm not alone in preferring they'd make a few sacrifices in effort to get the framerate to 45+, graphics be damned. The 40 second load times Bloodborne had at launch, though? That shit fucking sucked. I won't have the rig for better-than-PS4...
  34. D

    Dark Souls 3

Lol, point conceded. I flail about for roughly 60 hours per Souls game on first playthrough
  35. D

    Dark Souls 3

Hmm. That could mean any number of things. I just hope the first playthrough is a good 60 hours.
  36. D

    Dark Souls 3

Agreed. I'd love the gameplay and world size of II, the atmosphere of Demon's and the level design of Dark Souls 1.

    Stardew Valley

Thanks guys - figured as much. Always looking for short-session, laptop-friendly Steam games, although if the game is half as addictive as claimed I will be ignoring my parents tonight.
  38. D

    Stardew Valley

Probably gonna buy this tonight to play on laptop while at parents' house. A lot of these indies basically require a controller, but I suspect keyboard is perfectly adequate or even ideal for this game. Correct?

Salt and Sanctuary (2d Dark Soulsesque) - PS4/Vita/PC

The latter. And yeah it's terrible. I was drunk though, so when I get home and make sure I didn't just remove them from hotbar or something. Gamekiller if they're really gone though

Salt and Sanctuary (2d Dark Soulsesque) - PS4/Vita/PC

Yeah, I made it through. Now my replenishable potions have disappeared for some reason. That's a problem
