Ya. It is only in 3D. I've seen both now, and I couldn't tell a difference outside of scenes with a lot of movement; it looked really good in those scenes. I would need a side-by-side comparison spoon fed to me to really tell a difference.

Definitely worth the ticket price and a bonus that the girlfriend loved it. I'll be seeing it again a few days to pass my final judgement, but my initial impression of the movie bodes well for this having the same lasting affect of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I've been watching the extended editions the past few days, and my enjoyment hinges upon whether or not I'm studying, etc. Good luck sitting in the theaters lol, I'd be a lot more tempted if the theater companies around me (Carmike and Regal) were actually showing the marathon.

Decided that I'm going wait for my second viewing to see the movie in HFR. I've read a few reviews on theonering.net, and the majority recommend to see it in HFR but wait till your second viewing: high budget BBC drama.

Halo 4 was enjoyable for several reasons, but the graphics, while better than Halo 3, were not that great. It definitely was not the best of the year.
