Was trying to avoid the mobo change but if 4000 series is coming that soon I guess future proofing a little wouldn't hurt. This is all going through a new 60" tv that I doubt I'll be upgrading in the next 5+ years so consistent 1440p/120 is really all I am caring about.

EVGA step-up program, pay the difference. 3070 drops in October, my upgrade window is until November. $75 upgrade plus the Ryzen around $120.

Consistently breaking 120fps at 1440p ultra while getting the most out of what I already have for a low price. Upgrading the GPU and CPU would be like a $200 investment.

As far as I understand it, I can't upgrade to a 4000 series because it'd need an updated B550 chipset. Intel would require a new motherboard as well.
