Maybe so but the #1 grinding method (public dungeons) just got a roughly 80% nerf to the amount of EXP per kill. EXP for kills in the VR zones got nerfed as well. When they games goes live, people won't be leveling near as fast as they were in beta. Even if some people live, breath, eat and...

I need help translating your post. ZOS stated the first adventure zones will be released in the first content patch which they have also stated is scheduled for late April. That has been common knowledge for a couple of weeks now. What are you wanting to bet on? That they will miss the late...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It took the hardcore players in my guild 3 weeks to get to VR10. There were only a handful of them. By the time a guild has enough VR 10s to run AZs, the first content patch should be out.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It's been known for a couple of weeks now that adventure zones wouldn't be included at launch. Considering they are designed for veteran ranks, no one would be able to get into them at launch anyways. First content patch is supposed to go in mid/late April so that gives people time to get to VR10.

I was on Tichondrious as Horde in vanilla. It was one of the few (perhaps only) servers with a large Horde presence.

I also believe they stripped out the ability for addons like FCT with scrolling combat text to display what ability created your outgoing damage. Whereas before you would see "500 Ambush" now you only see "500".
  8. R

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Pretty much all true. The 3rd party scripts that automate the reactive combat abilities is what had so many complaining. In order to prevent that, ZOS went overboard and pretty much gutted the entire API.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Huh? I already stated up front it was a well designed quest. Fundamentally from a MMO game mechanics perspective there is nothing in that quest that is unique. The story/lore just does a good job of disguising the gameplay and to keep you from noticing its standard MMO game mechanics...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I did The Haunting quest last week. You click on a mirror and get teleported to a private instance (like TESO uses). Once inside the private instance, you perform standard WoW clone tasks to advance the quest (like TESO uses). Rinse and repeat for each major phase of that quest where you go...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Replace TSW with TESO and "real treat" with "sucks ass" and keep the rest of your post and you would have the same criticism of TESO that many people have made here yet you praise TSW for it.

I've done the quests that Eleanor Franklin gives out. What exactly do you think is unique about them that sets them apart from the other quests in the game?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

If you are asking me which of the two is better, then GW2 events are better than TESO dark anchors. It's an apple vs oranges comparison though. GW2 events were cleverly disguised quests that were fundamentally not much different than the standard WoW quest. By that I mean even in GW2 events...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I've been playing Secret World for the past couple if weeks and the large majority of the quests in that game are no different than the standard quest design WoW created and countless clones have copied. You get a high quality cinematic after which you either go kill X number of mobs or click...

To each his own. I thought the PVE in GW2 royally sucked, especially the group dungeons.

Yours is the assumption everyone has made but unless the ZOS employee is outright lying, I will take them at their word that the problem doesn't have anything to do with the megaserver tech.

There goes Utnayan stating his opinion as fact again. Straight from the horses mouth (ZOS community manager): We're currently working on fixes for the quests that broke on the live server over the weekend (and in previous scale tests.) For what it's worth, it is not a megaserver tech issue.
  18. R

    The Elder Scrolls Online

This has been my experience on PTS as well. The number of broken quests are extremely small and the ones that are can usually be fixed with a quick relog to the character select screen. Sounds like the problems with broken quests are directly caused by some bug in the mega server technology...

Are you referring to Franklin Mansion and if so which storyline? I'm in that zone now and did the main story quest and the sabotage quest from there that led you to the mine. Think Eleanor Franklin still has a regular quest and an investigative quest I can do. In the Funcom Store there is a...

To most of the jaded gamers here, everything since EQ1 has been "terrible". If the MMO doesn't compel you to spend every spare minute of your life playing the game, then it sucks.

VR10 means you did all the PVE content in all 3 factions. The thing about VR ranks is that you have to do a lot of the VR PVE content in a group because of its difficulty. Even if you live, breathe, eat and crap TESO for as many hours a day as possible, you are still going to need other people...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It seems to me the most common complaints on the closed beta forums are all related to the Ui or lack thereof so you would think by now they should have a pretty good idea of what people like or don't like. I was always under the impression that by design the UI was minimalist and austere with...

I honestly do not see how anyone could get from level 1 to VR10 in 6-7 days. If they could it would be extremely unhealthy.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It also violates ZOS own design mantra that they want you to play the game, not play the UI. It's clearly obvious the Quickslot radial UI was designed for console controllers. The problem that creates for PC users is that for every consumable you have slotted except for the default one , you...

Where did you see that? I've probably raised more complaints with the Quickslot UI design than anyone on the closed beta forums. Last I heard the API didn't support modifying how it worked.

Apparently ZOS is getting a lot of whines from people who think addons are giving the people who use them an unfair advantage in PVP. Paul Sage created a thread on the forums to get feedback on the issue. It's turned into a huge drama thread. There are only a couple of vehement anti-addon...

Do you always jump to conclusions and assume the worst even if you don't have access to all the facts? The fact that the 0.181 patch didn't have an entry that said "Fixed a bug with mega server architecture causing severe lag in Cyrodil" is not an indication that ZOS is blowing it off and...

Supposedly if you select Campaign A as your home campaign, your alts in the other two factions will be prevented by the game from joining that campaign. I can't confirm if it is working or not since we only have one campaign at a time on PTS so everyone is allowed to join it.
