The MMORPGs that came after EverQuest for the most part killed exploration. It all became theme parks where you went from point A to point B, and then you went from point B to point C. Rinse and repeat. Gotta chase that questing carrot.

I'd play FFXIV except for one thing... I'm not in to the asian themed fantasy realm of games. I prefer the DnD western style fantasy realm kind of games. Give me FFXIV with a western theme based on good old Dungeons and Dragons, and I might play it.
