    Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3d

Saw this last night after getting free passes from a local radio station. It was pretty run of the mill stuff. You won't be surprised by it, and I would not bother watching it in theaters (and only bother at home if you love these kinds of movies). I found the lead actress fairly attractive, and...

    Kroll Show

I'll give it a shot. I really like Nick Kroll when he is being himself, but I've always found his characters he does during stand up a bit grating.

    Evil Dead Remake

Raimi lovingly refers to the car as "The Classic". I'll assume the car being there is just a nod to us fans of the original, but I'll secretly hope for some kind of tie-in.

Knights of Pen and Paper is pretty fun. I'd recommend it, but with the caveat that you play it on a phone and not an iPad. It's the kind of game best dealt with in smaller bursts.

    Evil Dead Remake

I've read stuff back and forth for years, but I think the official word from Bruce was that he turned down doing a cameo. He didn't want his face popping up to take away from the film. Though, it could all be BS to make us think he won't appear there somewhere.

    Who's that Pokemon?

I was going to take a picture of Shelly and apply it to the "Who's that Pokemon" background with her blacked out, but I can't find the picture. I suppose I'm going to special kind of hell for ever seeking that picture out.

    Evil Dead Remake

"It's about this point in the movie where we lose a lot of the female audience members, and I've never been able to figure out why". Tree enters vagina "Oh yeah". I agree with the gore porn (which worries me). The gore in Evil Dead 2 was super campy, literal rivers of blood. This one is trying...

    Indie Games

The game will save each time you quit, so really it will last as long as you can survive. Most of my deaths happen around the 10-15 day mark, and usually from stupidly not paying attention to my hunger or health. The number of days you survive before death translate into XP, and at certain XP...

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

I assumed it was Benjen until the Children of the Forest spoke with Bran about Coldhands as well. It's likely a character that has been mentioned previously, but I was in too much of a rush through a first read-through to piece it all together.

    Torrents

I was both shocked a sad to see bitgamer disappear out of the blue like that. Luckily I got a referral to Blackcat-games just after BG went down. Haven't had enough time to really check it out yet, but they started me off with 40GB of upload which is fairly generous.

January Book of the Month: Old Man's War by John Scalzi

I'll grab a copy while I'm out today and give it read. I should note that this will likely be a big departure for me. I mostly read horror or comedy, with a bit of fantasy thrown in from time to time. I'm hoping I don't have trouble getting into it.

    Indie Games

I've been playing for a couple weeks and enjoy it quite a bit. They release updates every 10 days or so with tweaks and additional content. And yeah, it plays almost exactly as you would expect it to. Build a stockpile of food and a static camp, then go exploring and collecting during the day...

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

Ah yes, I recall those bits now. I suppose my memory of the books may be skewed a bit by the show, and a re-read should be in order.

January Book of the Month Poll

I didn't notice the thread until now, but I would have voted Old Man's War on simple account of my having read American Gods twice already.

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

Well shit. I guess it's time to re-read. It was ages ago when I read Game of Thrones, and it just seemed so out of character for Tyrion to flip like a ninja when I remember him complaining about being in pain so often. Back to the beginning, I suppose.

    Heroes VI

So, re-download 3 if I need a fix then? Thanks for the advice. I still haven't tried the newest King's Bounty title, so maybe I'll give that a go instead.

    Heroes VI

I've had this game on my wishlist for ages waiting for the price to drop a bit more. I haven't played a Heroes games since 3, so I've been unsure on whether it would be worth the cost or not. You folks recommend it?

I really enjoyed the games and would easily pay the $8.74 for them over again just to add them to my collection.

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

I tried reading the graphic novel. I thought it was going fine until they had Tyrion leap and flip off a roof during his first meeting with Jon Snow like a damn ninja. I know they need to spice things up for a visual retelling, but I had a hard time picking the books back up after that.

Depending entirely on what types of books the community picks, I'd love to join a RR bookclub.

    Lag friendly online games?

Turn based stuff is likely your best bet. I would personally recommend Hero Academy (free on iOS, a few bucks on Steam) and You Don't Know Jack. Hero Academy is a turn based strategy game, You Don't Know Jack is the best trivia game ever (the new facebook/iOS version is short, but there are...

    Steam Deals and Digital Sales

Shit. I just bought the Saints Row 3 pack on Steam, could have had it on Amazon for $5 cheaper! Oh well, it's still cheap as hell. Thanks for the heads up, I'll go find something else to buy!

    Android/iOS/Browser games

Just letting people know thatKingdom Rushis free on the App Store for a while. It was easily my favorite Tower Defense available for iOS. I assume it's free because they now have in app purchases for people to make, but you can ignore those and still enjoy the game.

    Steam Deals and Digital Sales

Anyone confirm? I already own Dungeon Defenders, Binding of Isaac, and Shank 2. But if I could gift away the extra copies, this bundle would be amazing. Edit: Fuck it. Bought one and yes, they are all separate keys. This is fantastic.

    Sad movie moments

Can't find a clip that isn't dubbed over or slowed down, but The Fox and the Hound ruined me as a kid. It was probably the only cartoon that made me sad until Up.

    John Dies at the End

If I had seen the trailer without knowing anything else I would be worried. Watching the trailer knowing that Don Coscarelli is behind it, I feel pretty alright with it. I can't imagine watching it with someone that hasn't read the book, though.

The Grand Tour (from the guys in Top Gear)

I'm one of the only people in my circle of friends that doesn't watch this show. I've never been a car guy, so I figured there would be nothing interesting for me. A friend made me sit down and watch the episode where they drive around South America in cars they bought online, and it was pretty...

    The Hobbit

The 48fps looked fine once I adjusted to it, which took about half the movie. Radagast's rabbit chase scene looked really really cheesy with the extra frames, but it might have looked that way in the 24fps version too, I'm not sure.

    Have you cheated?

I have cheated. I'll spare you all the essay and just give the short version: I dated a girl for 2 years, and over the course of the relationship I learned that she was kind of dumb. I somehow mistook dumbness for cuteness or something, I don't know. I became embarrassed of her, and always...

    Android/iOS/Browser games

Not necessarily looking for an Infinity Blade clone, just something that has plenty of hours of play and has a similar level of polish. Also, has anyone played the Lunar port for iOS? I know I played it forever ago, but it's one of the few RPG's that I don't really remember very well (other...

    Android/iOS/Browser games

Since I haven't seen it mentioned, I'll recommend Hero Academy. It's a fairly simple game that I've gotten dozens of hours out of. It's on Steam for a few bucks, but free on iOS. Also, anyone have any recommendations for things similar in scope to Infinity Blade II? I'm pretty much done...

If my junk PC could run the emulator, I'd certainly play Dark Cloud 2.

Hardest Boss Fights (No MMO shit please)

Not hard in the sense that it was terribly difficult to beat, but I remember the final boss of God of War pissing me off. You are forced to use the shitty 2 handed sword that you neglected all game, and all of your awesome powers are gone. It's like reverse Metroid.

Looks like high budget Power Rangers. Might be a fun movie.

So, who wants Dark Cloud 3?

I played the first one to death, but for some reason didn't ever play the sequel. That said, I would gladly play an updated version.

Speaking of lullaby music, I'd wholeheartedly recommend stuff fromRockabyebabyinstead of standard lullaby stuff. These discs (specifically the Queens of the Stone Age one) saved my sanity back when my son still used lullaby music to go to sleep.

    Do you have health insurance?

$200 for a single person seems pretty rough to me. I can't really contribute, as I live in Canada and my health care is covered by the province. I know that Vision/Dental coverage under my last union job was $50/month for my family of three, though. Does the mandate for health insurance in the...

    Free Copy of Metro 2033

I redeemed my key from the Amazon $10 THQ bundle. Then got it AGAIN from the THQ Humble Bundle. Now it's free for everyone. No sour grapes though, it's a pretty good game, and I'm happy everyone can take a crack at it.
