McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

Besides, you guys are looking at this all wrong. Winning isn't Conor's objective. Get in. Get rich. Get out. He tweeted that in 2014. That's been his objective the entire time. This is the big payday he's been working toward the whole time. He's going to get in the ring, look like a...

McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

I hear ya. And you are correct that boxing cardio is a less intense cardio than mma cardio. Nevertheless, I suspect McGregor will gas relatively early. As to the age difference and the slight weight difference, if this was even a relatively close fight otherwise, I would say they might...

    Fargo

It's a great show. This is pretty clearly the weakest season, but it's still quality tv. Ironically, I like a few of this season's characters more than all of last season's characters. Last season's story/plot was tighter. I think the primary flaw in this season is that it seems rushed and...

McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

If it makes it to late rounds, Mcgregor will be so tired Mayweather is going to have a hard time NOT dropping him without it being painfully obvious. I'm trying to envision a scenario in which this could be a good fight and coming up empty. Even if Mcgregor goes balls to the wall and comes...

McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

I could see that. Everyone saves face. Everyone makes millions. Setup for Part 2. This is why I stopped watching boxing in the first place. MMA so much better in this regard.

McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

Normally I'd agree with you, but what the hell would the fix be? I can't see Mayweather taking a dive under any circumstances. Mcgregor taking a dive would be pointless because everyone expects him to lose anyway.

McGregor vs Mayweather - Aug 26

Yeah this is the most exciting possible outcome for what will undoubtedly be an otherwise boring fight- and there is pretty much no chance of this happening. If this was an mma fight, Mayweather wouldn't stand a chance. Since this is a boxing match, Mcgregor doesn't stand a chance. 12...

Tim Roth? Really? I guess if you asked any actor "Hey, do you want to be in next Twin Peaks?" Who's really going to say no to that ?

Dear god, the number of recognizable character actors in this show is nothing short of astounding.

Thought it was going to be a Thunderheart remake for a min, but looks substantially different. I'll probably check it out. We need more movies like this.

    Denver/Yellowstone/Salt Lake City Road Trip

If you're still in the Denver area go to Bluepan Pizza and get the Brooklyn Bridge. Haven't had a better pizza anywhere I've lived- and they have a great tap too. Who knows, maybe I'll see you out (not that I'd recognize you).

Yeah from what I understand getting eaten off the coast of Australia is more likely than a lot of places but you'd still have to have pretty bad luck. I've also heard that the actual shark attack rate is lower than other places overall, but the fatality rate is a little bit higher because the...

Kinda off topic, but if I'm looking for great weather, fun nightlife (working professional), water sports/beaches, and a general fun/friendly environment what city or area would you guess recommend in Australia? Sounding like somewhere on the Gold Coast so far... how's Sydney though? Better...

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

Pretty useful. I've eaten several body parts so far. Found a hidden treasure spot due to the memories I got from eating a hand I found on the beach. Loving the game. About 22 hours in.

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

That's about as far as I got. Agree, it looks powerful and not overly complex. That's great news. What I didn't see was the actual content creation toolset. We saw him GMing a group through custom content (including a cool custom in-game map), but we didn't get a look at how he actually...

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

Never do early access but pulled the trigger on this game and I'm very glad I did. Game is awesome so far. They basically took all the good stuff in the Enhanced Edition and made it better and then added several new features. Color me impressed.

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

Probably going to pull the trigger on buying early access to this on Steam... Has anyone else done that? Is it decent/playable enough to be worth buying early?

    Better Call Saul

Nope. I don't think we are missing out on anything-- that's part of the problem. The filler doesn't come from the events and the scenes themselves, but how those events and scenes are being presented. Anyone with sense can see the show is excellently crafted, but it drags. It doesn't drag...

    Twin Peaks

Others have said it but I'll concur. Watch the old series first. I wasn't sure before I saw the new premier, but after watching it, I'm going to go back through and watch all the old stuff again before watching any more of the new.

    Better Call Saul

Every episode moves the story along a "few pegs." They are taking a novel approach to filler content. Instead of having a two or so throwaway filler episodes in a normal season (as is typical), they have spaced the filler content out over the entire season so that every episode is like 15-20%...

    Twin Peaks

Watched Fire Walk with Me many years ago before I saw the series. It's a weird movie. I would have gotten up and left my friend's place 15 minutes in if I hadn't been too drunk to drive at the time. But halfway through the movie it really started to grab me. By the end I (and everyone else...

    Fargo

Yeah used to listen to it when I was a kid. Actually think it scared me when I was very young. Definitely brought back some memories hearing it again. Thought it was a great episode. Liking this season a lot. Very different than the other two seasons, but still very Cohen Brothers.

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

GM mode is the feature I'm most excited about but it's also the hardest for a studio to implement. It's really hard to give the players a solid toolset that isn't insanely complicated and that enables you to make the kind of game you want for your players. The original NWN did it better than...

I spent a sick amount of time killing the Millers in Qeynos Hills. Took a lot of my chars from low 20's to low 30's there. I was on SZ and QH was out of the way enough I could usually level in peace. Got a few GBSs while I was at it. Early days on the pvp servers GBSs were money

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Tbh pvp is by far the best way to resolve all kinds of shitty things players do. Doesn't help the vast majority that don't want to play on a pvp server, of course. I played on pvp servers for 95% of my EQ career and it was funny listening to people on pve servers complain about raid calendars...

Pretty much where I sit. Going to hold off judging the relevance until the season unfolds more. There were some unusual things about the episode, but i wasn't bored at any point- that's the main metric I'm going to use to judge it for now. Was awesome seeing Leland Palmer. Dude looks almost...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I don't want to beat this horse but so much, but yes: There are a lot of things that can be automated and built into the system to GREATLY reduce the amount of resources needed to minimize bad RMT stuff. But you at least need to consider those things as you are building the game.... they don't...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Yeah, I mean I think most game devs would agree with you. On an alphabetical list of priorities, "Q" is about right as far as where stopping RMT/exploits/etc stands. Sigil made it a priority and (at one point) had significant resources, and even that wasn't enough. In other words, you can't...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

If you have an open-market in-game commerce system (as I definitely favor), you can't stop RMT. I think that's ok. The worst part of RMT (imo) isn't the out of game money changing hands, it's the effect it has in game a la spammers and farmers who are hogging game assets for the sole purpose...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I can tell you with full certainty that the crew I worked with at Sigil was fully dedicated to stopping RMT because everyone believed RMT was not a good thing for the game. I can't speak to other studios.
