It can be fun but also frustrating. Having to rip start your flicker with a bleed is fucking annoying to almost deadly. Out the main ways to trigger CoC, none of them are satisfying overall and have glaring flaws. I'd probably go with blade flurry is there was a more screen clearing method.

Question about Glacial Cascade: how reliable is it for the target to be hit 3 times? Or is 2 the max anyway? I'm doing a flicker strike CoC and I'm thinking being in melee range might limit it to two hits per cast.

No, the correct answer is both. You play your celestial herald with your celestial armor set and your automaton herald with something else. I've found it matches the new Pitfighter armor set quite well. Last year's Redeemer was good too.

It is not in the game anymore. Sextant limit on the atlas pretty much prevents you from being able block effectively. Just roll over bad ones if you really want to.

Brand recall is essentially quality of life. It extends the duration of your brands to the point that you rarely have to recast them and it's instant, so you can cast while moving. Brands will also activate one time after being recalled even if they don't attach, but that's a very minor boost...

I can, conc effect and unsocketing frostbolt will likely prevent that. If I wanted to be really safe, just use Storm Call everywhere. I was looking for pure single target spells and I'm not sure they exist. Ice Spear might count if you're close enough?
