I'd wait to decide on the GPU at least. And if you're gaming and can wait on the CPU, maybe they'll put out a X3D part eventually. But if you're on like first gen ryzen or intel 9th series, I'd probably be more inclined to upgrade now.

We're just hitting the limits of size for fin space and these usually terrible fans they stick on these things. I'd have expected them to at least gone to 25mm fans to improve static pressure and airflow but apparently they just added more metal and re-used the same thin mediocre fans they were...

But it's also just the cooler that is causing the size increase. The actual PCB on these things can be tiny once you're not trying to attach an air cooler to them that can handle the potential heat load.

Get HWinfo, MSI afterburner, and Rivatuner, you can get onscreen data for CPU/GPU usage while gaming. What I have for example, green is GPU (temp, usage, mem), red is CPU (temp, overall usage, highest core usage, mem, highest core clock), blue is water temp.

I’m sure there will be a WotLK boost. I just wanted to use the TBC one before it possibly went away. And I had plenty of time to casually level with nearly full rested xp over the last couple of weeks.

I just have an old raiding buddy there, so maybe I can join his raid group of semi-retards or something. It was also easier to boost a paladin than horde side, fuck manually leveling from 1-58 again. An hour of work pays for the boost. I already poopsocked the vanilla leveling once, never again.

It's mainly the transient spikes that are requiring the headroom.

An aoe heal stuns them, but it was a pretty risky strategy in my opinion to try and hard cast near them. The couple I was repeatedly fighting in the Haligtree though, a simple shield block always staggered them. So just walking into them while blocking and poking with a spear was easy.

Brief keyboard reviews: Bought a GMMK2 96% barebones along with some of their Panda switches. Panda switches - very obvious tactile bump, but it's at the immediate start of key travel so it just ends up being a hard to press key that blows through all of its travel and bottoms out immediately...
