    Bioware's "Anthem"

I hope he recovers. I have no idea what you two are going through, but I lost my younger brother 3 years ago last month (he was 37 when he died) and it was the single-most traumatic experience of my life due to all the related circumstances. The last year of his life he repeatedly asked me to...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

I've quit playing it entirely myself. I was willing deal with a lot of the obvious flaws because I was having 'some' fun, but the community keeps revealing back-end systems that are absolutely ridiculous. Bioware wacks one mole and two more appear. Besides, Division 2 is a MUCH, MUCH better game.

    The Division 2

I caved and bought the standard edition. I got it from GMG for $52 and got a copy of Ghost Recon: Wildlands with it for free, too. Until Friday.

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Well, before release I expected to squeeze a month or so out of Anthem, but my interest is already waning. It's a shame, because the game has a solid foundation. Unfortunately the execution has been rough. The biggest problem, for me, is that there just isn't enough content/variation and my bar...

    The Division 2

My best friend eats pork rinds while we play just to fuck with me. I only tolerate it because we've been friends for 30 years and he's on the take-a-bullet-for level.

    The Division 2

Likewise. I'm not anti-social or awkward, but I loathe listening to/talking with anyone but friends while playing games. Even then they occassionally annoy me because they talk over important scenes and make it hard for me to hear important sounds.

    Critical Roll Animated Special

If the scene I am referring to is a tie-in for something that happened in a previous episode (I've only seen episodes 2/23-34) then I'll eat crow. In fact, what you describe makes perfect sense for explaining what I saw. However, I doubt I'll ever be convinced that during production meetings...

    Critical Roll Animated Special

Sam Riegel is who you're referring to. He plays a female goblin 'rogue.' Initially, I also had a hard time taking him seriously, but I've come to really like him. Don't get me wrong, there are some cringe moments (for all of them), but his character is interesting and endearing. I'm like you in...

    Critical Roll Animated Special

I can't remember what edition it was specifically, but I know for a fact one of the old hardback source books had two separate (male/female) tables for maximum physical stats. As far as a the CR scripting, it was a few episodes ago maybe S2/30-32. I can't remember exactly, but Liam seemed to...

    Critical Roll Animated Special

A few weeks ago I decided to get back in to D&D (haven't played in years) and I have thrown myself in to learning as much about 5E as I can. I've purchased literally every official 5E book that's been printed and spent several dozen hours listening to D&D YouTube channels on 2x speed to refresh...

    The D&D thread

Absolutely not an indictment on you, but I absolutely hate the phrase of "social contract" because it just REEKS of SJW rhetoric. I know it's semantics, but I just prefer to set "ground rules" because I feel like that conjures to mind common issues like drinks need to have a lid, trying to avoid...

    The D&D thread

I haven't played a game of 5E, but I have been reading the rulebooks that arrived over the weekend and I am starting to formulate a rough outline of the hook and general direction of my campaign. Granted, I don't have any experience with 5E, but it looks like it is going to free me of a lot of...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

I'm still playing and having fun, but my playtime has fallen off considerably. When I do play it's usually a Freeplay session while listening to a podcast or YouTube video.

Yep. I stumbled across WebDM last week and have watched close to 20 of their videos as well and they're fantastic.

    New DM Advice

I've probably spent 85% of my D&D time as DM, but I have very rarely had the opportunity to pick the brains of other DMs at length. YouTube has provided an invaluable resource for D&D players; especially DMs. There are a ton of quality channels to learn from. Per the recommendation in this...

    New DM Advice

I decided to put looking for an online game on the back burner in favor of looking for a live game. I have an 'interview' for a game this week. I haven't played in many years and sold everything I had when I quit (massive mistake as I had some really old shit that I don't even want to know the...

There's definitely a feel that they reduced the drop rates of masterwork and legendary items.

    Bioware's "Anthem"

It's an enjoyable, but frustrating game. The bugs can be incredibly annoying, but a lot of them are being hotfixed with rapidfire. Apart from the technical flaws, some of the narratives are also weak. A few of the stories are interesting (main story), but the method that's used to tell them is...

Here's my thicc boi and one of my decent items. The 250% damage mod on primed targets has it do a hell of a lot of damage.

    Bioware's "Anthem"

I spent all day Monday doing Strongholds with just my best friend and I. You could absolutely do it. Was it intended? Maybe not, but we ran them for hours with it set to private and never saw another soul. With the sheer number of bugs/connection issues it doesn't surprise me. I had no reason...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

It's there. Log in and check for yourself. I have no idea if friends can join AFTER you launch, but you can set it private so strangers can't join you (or your friends). *EDIT* I just tried it. Apparently that function got patched out. You can't set Stronghold or Freeplay to private anymore...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Yes, there is. It's under the privacy tab in the launch screen.

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Hmm, I got DC'd another 4 times, but when I finally ended the next Freeplay the masterwork items (which was actually 8) and everything else I looted was still there. Apparently, there's some protection in that the Freeplay loot gets cached even when you DC.
  24. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

My salt level is high right now. I tried to leave Freeplay with 7 masterwork items in my inventory and got disconnected. Obviously, I lost them all.
  25. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

95% of my play is on GM1 and the other 5% I tinker with GM2. I find that everything but bosses just melt for groups that actually know what they're doing. Players don't necessarily have to be super well geared, but actually using their brains by flanking the shield guys and exploiting weak...
  26. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Yes, it's level based, but you can get Masterwork before you're max level. Or could. I have no idea if the patch yesterday changed that. Personally, my first masterwork didn't come until I hit 30. Loot is: White/Common, Green/Uncommon, Blue/Rare, Purple/Epic, Orange/Masterwork, Yellow/Legendary.

    Bioware's "Anthem"

And you're autistic. My comment was to illustrate that I don't take notice of many posters here unless they're assholes (or consistently post interesting information), despite years spent visiting this site and every iteration before it. It had absolutely nothing to do with me, retard. I...

There's no problem. The game is quite accommodating for those situations.
  30. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

My relationship with Anthem is similar. I really enjoy the gameplay, but I also find myself heavily sighing and getting incredibly frustrated over being forced to deal with some aspects of the game. For instance, the "city" is pure trash. I've gotten so fed up with running laps to continue...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Choke on my dick, faggot. I'm a 20+ year veteran of FoH yet there are MAYBE two dozen names that stand out to me and you're one of them because you have a well-documented history of just complaining about everyfuckingthing. Especially games. Complaining about games is fine, even necessary, but...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

The load screens are my biggest gripe. Just last night I was playing with a friend and after an hour long freeplay session we got booted and lost all the masterworks we farmed. We were obviously both salty, but I really lost it when I went to prepare for a contract by making consumables and...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Ok? So, fuck off and stop reading about a game you very clearly despise. Anthem is not without warts, but despite them a lot of people are having fun with it. It's obvious that Anthem is never going to clear the bar and be the 1 in 500 game-Utnayan-approves-of. We get it, you hate the game...

I exclusively play Colossus and I have that same rifle. It absolutely shreds shields.
  35. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

With most games, I find they don't get much better if the early game isn't fun, but I'm inclined to agree with you about Anthem. I found the first 25ish levels mediocre, but Grandmaster and the back end of the main story made the game enjoyable.
  36. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Same. I occasionally encounter a fuckwit who acts like General Zod on VoIP, but they always immediately pipe down when I tell them to shut the fuck up.
  37. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Nothing overt as far as I can tell, but both my buddy and I noticed that the overwhelming majority of NPCs you interact with are non-white, "strong" females. And most of the men are either idiots, pathetic, or gay.
  38. Grabbit Allworth

    Bioware's "Anthem"

I played the Colossus a lot during both demo weekends and found it to be very sturdy. Granted, I used two of the health/armor add-ons and I also used my 'super' as a defensive cooldown. It heals you to full and makes you, essentially, invulnerable during its duration. On Hard, I only had...

    The D&D thread

I haven't played D&D in years, but I have a lot of experience. I've wanted to get back in to a regular campaign, but I can never find a 'normal,' consistent group of people. Do any of you play in or run an online campaign with a slot for a non-disruptive, reliable player? I prefer to play...
