bro I'm broke until my next EBT comes in. I just don't really care for racing games much and want to see how it feels on ultrawide before dropping $40 for forza horizon 4 or something.

Anyone got recommendations on free or cheap but realistic looking racing games? Just trying to try something out that isn't a 20 year old game.

new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

@iannis Huh, I probably should have tried this out before I spent $700 on it. I feel like the width is great, but the height is just 25% too low. Maybe I'm just thinking that ultra wide screen would get me the kind of experience that VR got me. I'll have to see how it looks after playing a game...

I just picked up a 1080 ti and a new ultra wide monitor. Each were about $700. I'm looking to match that to invest in a new $1400 ship in Star Citizen, what should I get?

Yeah I could see myself getting my monitor, installing it, loading up whatever game and thinking, "Huh, I probably should've tried this out before I spent $700 on it.". Then again I can remember the first time using my current 24" monitor I got ten years ago and being blown away at the...

Just bought that alienware monitor from the above link. It's $200 cheaper than anywhere else, which makes me a little worried!!! thinking about buying the alienware ultra wide monitor. It's $720 right now here: Dell Alienware AW3418DW 34" Curved WQHD 4ms 120Hz NVIDIA G-Sync Gaming Monitor 884116278788 | eBay and $900 everywhere else... and trying to pick up a 1080 ti used (Looks like I missed the boat yesterday) for...

new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

Yeah that's one of the things I'm debating since it seems like you have to choose between 4k or 100/144hz refresh rate, and i've never really gamed on either (though 4k looks great on my TV when I tried it)
  28. Tuco

new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

That's on my list, but the problems I have with that much wide monitor is that 80% of the information from the world is in the center 50% of the screen. That left and right 20% of your screen is so warped that it's only providing an extra 5% of usable field of view. And for that monitor...

So I'm thinking about getting a new monitor + video card monitors I'm considering: And I'm leaning toward a new or used 1080 ti. Should I expect an opportunity to cheaply buy either of these things in the holiday season?
