Ion does give high end split runs as a reason (not the primary reason) for the implementation of universal personal loot.

I wonder if Method kept data on the impact of all of their prep work. Just how many times did their boss order on splits allow them to allocate a piece of gear better, how many times did they get to move a trinket/ring/hat because of the tradeskill stuff, etc.
