It's not prequels bad Mist. We were just misled/teased at larger answers coming in this one, and this one being the best SW movie up there with Empire. Plenty of good parts, but it didn't live up to all that...and many questions TFA might have brought up for you will not be answered in TLJ.

I think everyone agrees Mark Hamill played the role that was written for him as well as it could be done.

Most people panning it have noted there are good parts in it. Some of the themes are handled well. The overdone humor throughout and plot holes a mile wide leave a sour taste too.

R2 and 3PO are pretty much the humor. Han's character is pretty much built on that, but he's not in this movie. Eyeball monster was still an actual mortal threat, weird as it was.

You need to watch the originals again. The goofy humor wasn't nearly as prevalent as it was in TLJ. No one was "trolling" Tarkin over the comm to undermine his character from the jump. Original didn't showcase anywhere near 50 planets. A New Hope had Tatooine and Yavin 4. Can count the...
