I use a TP-LINK AC1350 Wireless Dual Band Router (Archer C60), to do this. I configured it to wirelessly bridge my AC network, it functions as an AC & N access points (separate SSID's), and plugging in works as well albeit at 10/100.

You could be overthinking it, most consumer routers are plastic ovens with little ventilation and no fans. A router will need a reboot or power down from time to time no matter how fancy or expensive a plastic oven you buy.

I think Synology makes quality products and are priced better than their competitors. That said, both those units are expensive for nothing more than a low powered PC with drive expansion. My setup is Xpenology on a Thinkcentre M82, a 4bay hotswap (4x2.5" in a 5.25" drive bay), and 2...

I love my Logitech G15 (v2), going on 8 years now and I just can't seem to give it up but finding it's starting to show its age and use. I am on the hunt for it's replacement. My criteria is kinda simple but with one caveat, I want it back lit, non-mechanical, and have volume and media...

This sounds more like a power saving feature, you should look to see if your nic is set to auto power down or maybe your extender has a power saving feature. Also if you are extending your wifi to the extender AC doesn't travel well through floors and wall, if you're just surfing might want to...

Having some challenges getting Observium working in docker, this is the zuhkov/observium variant. I have tried...
