I like armor for stacking poise for a shield build. able to take blows without staggering save for boss super hits. and those you don't stamina deplete you just knock back or flail your arms a sec.

i tried to farm the little black dudes across the bridges for that weird polearm saw blade thing (blood loss polearm was the goal) i must have killed 100 of them. no drop :( got quite a few levels now though.

you can jump 'away' when the hammer comes down and always avoid it. you get enough time to drink your apple juice if you need. you 'can' jump attack in, but he'll do some shit really fast after so don't do that unless you have a fast recovery weapon.
