My shaman is a draenei but really you could cut and paste any race type a gnome would love a gnome garrison of gnome buildings. Its not like they in general don't have race specific buildings for all the races as general templates.

It is one reason they made a great choice going for a very stylistic art choice instead of attempting any sort of photo realism. If done well very stylized art type world style can hold up very well over time but if you aim for high realism that winds up looking very dated rapidly.

This was the reason I did not bother with it. I skipped pandaria until about a month ago I could have done the quest line but its a lot of work and a lot of effort for something you cannot transmog and won't be using in a month.

I was thinking the same as you. The mage tower seems pretty questionable I have not been seeing a lot of interesting rewards for having it other than inter draenor portals and that seems of questionable utility. If they ever do put flying in that goes from questionable to pointless instantly.
