Been trying to make a burning arrow build work work in PoB. Even with the proposed buffs coming, just doesn't seem worth it. Can burning arrow or fireball proliferate and clear better than already existing Inpulsa's and Lightpoacher builds? I don't see how ignite prolif can come close to this...

What mechanic caused to act that way(multiple screen proliferation)? I could maybe see Fireball acting in a similar manner, that might be fun.

I want to try out Ignite next patch but I don't see what it offers that a lightning Elementalist won't for proliferation or a poison Assassin for damage over time.

Unless something comes along with Incursion, that build is going away again. Bestiary made low level uniques like Brutus Lead Sprinkler very cheap. That said, by no means did Brutus Lead Sprinkler enable that build, and since they "nerfed" it, I'm pretty sure any 325+ dps 1H weapon is equivalent.

Those can exist, just depends on how many exalts you're willing to invest. With enough exalts, a molten strike jugg can be extreme boss dps(molten strike will never been better than good for clear) and quite tanky. It's really hard to add tankiness with exalts though.
