BTW casting Max Headroom as the fight promoter and Galen the Technomage as the guy at Head in the Clouds were nice touches

    Star Trek: Discovery

Ash/Voq is a very interesting character now. I sometimes think they had the end game planned out in terms of characterization and then worked backwards. Well that was a fucked up ending

    2018 Winter Olympics

The figure skating commentary from Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski is pure comedy gold. The two of them are not just throwing shade, they are hurling it at mach 2.

    Altered Carbon

I was all on board and loving it... until episode 7. I actually yelled at the screen 'please get your hallmark bullshit out of my cyberpunk'

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I used to get invites all the dang time but then everything just stopped. I thought it might have been something I posted somewhere or something I did to inadvertently annoy Alex, but looking back I realize that everything stopped happening Alpha/Beta wise when I hit 40... Did I age out of...

    The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

Yeah swapping universes would make more sense, but that wouldn't explain how the station ended up on the opposite side of the sun. For that matter how the heck does the engineer end up in the wall given that the station was, again, on the opposite side of the sun. Oh and how is she meant to...

    The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)

The science in this movie is painful, from the very premise to the fucked up way they simulate gravity with rotation I found myself yelling at the screen with alarming frequency.

    Star Trek: Discovery

I still scratch my head as to why Qo'noS is pronounced 'kro-nos'. Well that and the whole capital at the end business.

    Star Trek: Discovery

Well her academic background is psychology / sociology so guessing she had a fairly non-standard admiral. Her specialty was stated to be negotiation and diplomacy with new races so she's probably only remaining because everyone competent is dead. I am wondering if they won't use time travel...

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Don't forget that his name was an intentional nod to Flash Gordon, a property that Lucas was aching to make a film using but was unable to secure the rights and hence made his own 'serial' saga

    Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

I really do like the overall graphical style they chose for the spellcasting in the MCU. It's internally consistent which helps it 'fit'

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Was basing it purely on the outfit. Harsh militaristic lines along with the Black White and Red color scheme usually associated with the Empire

    Altered Carbon

I love the people complaining about white washing Kovacs character. 1) The character is of mixed heritage to begin with hence the whole extremely non-asian surname of ''Kovacs" 2) The loss of identity is the whole fucking point of the entire show.

    Altered Carbon

If you can watch it in 4K then you owe it to yourself to do so. It really pops in a way I have not really seen in other 4K productions

    The Good Place

Im intrigued by the fact that Janet is more than just a Janet by this point. Curious way to end the season, I wonder how long they will explore them in their 'second chance'? Its a pretty big departure from the very stylized 'neighborhood' set.

    Altered Carbon

My buddy has a reviewer's account because he does a lot of horror marketing / promotion and thus had access to the first couple of episodes for review purposes. I have to say I am immediately hooked and very much on board with this show. I will say, however, that I have not read the source...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

They officially delayed it to Early 2019 which likely means we won't see it until March/April 2019 at this point. They have to be under a lot of pressure and the general malaise towards both Bioware and this IP can't be helping .

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

Im not entirely sure having new sub-races counts as 'content' in terms of the pre-expansion content drought.

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

The base premise is very unengaging . Continued war on Azeroth makes no fucking sense now that the Legion is dead and you can colonize whole new worlds . Similarly the whole subrace business is just handled badly. Alliance gets two races practically pulled from someone's ass based on the...

    Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)

Their choice of opening week is really bad. There's a big gap right now at the box office which could have been filled by something like this and done at least moderately well. Sandwiched in between A Wrinkle in Time and Ready Player One is just asking for a drubbing.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

A good portion of the Expanded Universe was garbage. Mara Jade was cool and certain aspects of the Solo kids were interesting, but everything involving the Yuuzhan Vong was sado-masochist fan fic at best. They do get to mine some of it for good ideas though, hence Thrawn, Tie Defenders...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

Well it looks like Mistweaver is more-or-less back to its state from MoP albeit without the faster gcd. I always liked the constant channel of soothing mist plus the auxiliary mist from the Jade Serpent with instacast bigger heals while channeling. Arcane Mage seems to be going back to the...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I mean I have to hand it to them, their constant changes have kept the game at least somewhat fresh over the years unlike the competition...well when there still was competition anyway. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

They do have a valid point about the whole telekinetic business showing up in Empire though. While at this point its hard to conceive of Jedi who didn't move rocks around, it was a radical new power when seen in Empire. Then again we also saw Force Speed added in Phantom Menace and then...

    Car Buying Help

    Star Trek: Discovery

I'm betting that despite Lrell's death howl we will still have Voq around if only as suppressed knowledge within Tyler. I thoroughly enjoyed Anthony Rapp's performance playing off himself while trapped in the Network. It's clear that Stamets is still going to be the key to all this...

Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017)

By doing it in animation you open yourself up to lots of possibilities in terms of visceral imagery and action that would be prohibitively expensive to film. So, naturally, most of the movie consists of people talking and whining about how Earth belongs to humans (despite humans only being 1/3...

    Star Trek: Discovery

This is starting to show the hallmarks of its origin as an anthology series. The show seems to be blowing its wad plot-wise on everything in this one season and not really setting up much for longer term storytelling.
