Yea that should be a pretty significant upgrade. You'll very likely want some kid of SSD to boot off, but otherwise it looks totally fine.

RE: Arena The game itself seems like it's put together well enough. The shortcuts have they have implemented to try and improve the flow of play for casual matches actually work pretty well, but if you want to play for real you can just turn full control mode on and it works just like MTGO...

The issue with Jace is the potential for him to crowd out any other midrange strategy. There's a very real scenario in which he is good enough that the format warps to be hyper aggressive plans (burn, affinity, etc) or decks that go over the top of Jace (tron, valakuk, etc.).
