Those ryze changes, its pretty much a slight nerf early game and huge boost mid/late game, doesn't make sense on someone who already had a slow early game and really good late game, but I'll take it. The removal of mana from banshee's veil kinda sucks though.

Actually 9/0/21 is the preferred build for ryze, not sure how defense would work, but I can tell you the increased mana/mana regen, movement speed, and cd reduction is invaluable, especially early game. Ryze has mana problems early game, of course you don't want to spam spells your first time...

Are you sure you're not looking at an outdated build? Every ryze build I've seen builds roa or archangel's first. If you want muramana to do real damage, because its physical damage, you need to build armor penetration which of course just doesn't make sense on ryze. You already have magic...

@WH Also, you should build rod of ages first after your essentials on ryze and then use the tear for an archangel's staff, manamune isn't as good for ryze as it used to be since they nerfed it.
