I have a feeling this season is going to be very mixed...some aspects that are great, some that seem very tired and done too many times. I bet the main cast is split right down the middle too as far as who seems interesting/is killing it and who just isn't working in their role.

To be exact, The Rangers were 11-9-4 after their last game against Tampa. They went 42-13-3 the rest of the way. That's 123 point pace. Which is ridiculous. Safe to say those 3 games are long gone in history and not very relevant to this series.

The last of those 3 games occurred on December 1st. Not sure exactly how relevant it will be to the series, but probably gives them a little confidence for sure. Guess Tampa is happy Rags won, since they were 1-2 against the Caps this year.

No, Backstrom is still a legit 1C. And for 4 games against the Isles he was great. I'm waiting to hear if he was nursing any injuries. It's very troubling that he seems to disappear come playoff time though.

Holtby v. Lundqvist series stats Pretty good read overall. Table at the end shows how ridiculous they've been, .943 sv% combined, and that includes the fact they just gave up 7 goals combined in Game 6.

Bishop isn't showing any signs of being the weak link. That's 2 straight shutouts in the game where they eliminated their opponents. I think Rags would be a slight favorite, but Caps would definitely be the underdog against Tampa.

I think missing him will have more of a mental impact on Tampa than missing what his actual play brings to the table...but yeah I think Habs have a good shot at it. Also, if that series goes back to Montreal for Game 7, I'd put Habs' chances at winning it at above 90%.

Welp, first time getting 3rd PP in a game since Game 6 against the Isles. I just don't like that they seem to be reffing this game differently from the rest of the series Stoic. I still have no idea what McDonough did to give us our first PP back in the 1st.

Well, NBC never showed another replay of it, which isn't surprising in the slightest. Everyone on Caps blogs noticed it right away. Bura had the puck, it was a little reckless by Kreider. I do think he was actually trying to land a hit with his shoulder too, which is a good thing.
