It really depends on the upkeep imo. Have they said anything in this regard? Personally I would hope that you can keep one plot that size without an upkeep. I hate having to micro stuff like that in games I dont actively play, and I equally hate loading it up again after a couple of months...

Personally I would say I donated to the project despite the kickstarter and not because of it. It's not enticing at all for anyone on the fence imo.
