Sky Islands should have some kind of kill barrier underneath them IMO stopping you from entering without doing an event or portal. Getting up there early just breaks progression completely. Just walking around picking up Ancient Spheres from the ground is busted.

Every activity tells you the power level it is set to when you launch it. 550 will not make a difference in any dungeons. Baseline dungeons are 300 power with no delta. Master mode dungeons are 430 with a -30 delta. If you click on "Customize" or "Modifiers" it's spelled out more clearly.
