yes. for minimal effort you can disenchant some low level shit. then make some basic +1 enchants for your own gear. however ascending up to higher tiers of enchanting is grossly expensive. the crystals/fronds from mining/herbing can disenchant. and low level items can disenchant into low level...

enchanting craft skill uses powder (from disenchanting) to produce scrolls you right click and add to your gear. each slot has a few choices of things that can go in it. so you can't do like agility on every slot.
