It's a dumb harem adventure power fantasy show. But it is fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. I'd say keep watching. The MC gets better but he does stay an asshole, however he's at least consistent with it.

Lot of sequel seasons I'll be watching edit: Vending Machine Dandadan Kaiju No. 8 Dress Up Grand Blue - pretty sure I watched S1 a long time ago, remember it being dumb fun Call of the Night Kaiju and Dandadan action bangers and the rest the laid back stuff. Plus whatever else doesn't suck.
