I have not setup MQ, so I can't really say, but I didn't think it affected client performance. IMHO Isboxer is the best solution for boxing, butlavishsoftalso has some free options you can try out (WinEQ/EQPlayNice). Someone else may have a good suggestion, but honestly I cannot imagine boxing...

Everyone who was in the beta says this server is legit, but this really sounds like something you would hear from a vaporware project.

Anyone who directly sells stuff on any EMU gets shutdown by the IP owner. You have to run it as a no-profit donation server if you want to keep going.

SOE hosting eqclassic won't happen. It would be a liability. They would need to thoroughly analyze it and make sure there was nothing malicious. It is a risk SOE won't take. They've had enough problems with the PSN debacle.

For leveling up and running dungeons P99 is a solid server. Unfortunately the raid/rmt scene is messed up. Aside from the Amelinda incident, I have not seen hard proof that the staff is involved. What is clear is that some people are making a lot of money off this server. If you can ignore...

Is this where you can attack a pet at a certain level and the NPC owning the pet doesn't attack you. It just summons a new pet for you to kill? It was like that for over a year on live. GMs didn't care about it. Eventually got patched so the NPC would join in.

Is there a class on this server that is generally considered more powerful? I have always rolled a mage, but pets are weak sauce here.

The exp model here is pretty much the opposite of vulak. Yellow/red give good exp, blues are completely worthless. I made lvl 6 in about 6 hours played.

EQMac is definitely a good option, although it does have moon cats and a lower population. RMT is going to be available on any popular server. Plat is cheaper on EQMac if anyone is interested in that.

For a first char, I highly recommend heading to EC tunnel. It is easy to get thorns/HP/crack there, basically powerleveling through the teens. But yeah, after that it is a grind unlike anything seen in modern mmos
