    Gravy's Cooking Thread

I am currently in New Mexico, here to visit my in laws (Gravy's family). I have not seen them since the FUNeral. I arrived yesterday afternoon and am already in food heaven. My sister in-law, Liz made her chile Colorado last night. Holy guacamole (she made that too) was it good. I'm in the land...

Ohmygeebus, glad you made it through that. (I can't stop laughing, though.) There are some nice parks in the Shiloh area for a picnic lunch, if the weather is decent. (Steady lived in St. Clair, Co. for many years before moving back to this [West] side of the river. ) Again, best of outcomes to you.

I don't know how much time you will have in between (if your appt. is at the CAM), or if you will want to mess with leaving your parking spot...but the Science Center is about a mile away, the Art Museum, about three, and there are many good restaurants in the area. I am saddened to read of your...

Steady puts a bit of lemon zest in mashed potatoes, it is delicious. We tried mandarin zest too, which also was interesting.

Bread pudding is the yum. I am so going to try it with croissants, now! I love a good oatmeal cookie. I'm not a huge fan of them if they have chocolate chips in them. I am a fan of plumped raisins or cranberries though. Lucky you on the wife's skill!

What would you determine is the top two or three things you can cook or bake, where you can just throw it together? Something you've made so many times, no written recipe, you just make it and it turns out defuckinglicious every time. Me: gravy. 😁

New Year greetings! I just wanted to drop in to say, thank you again. I know that I would not have made it through my first year of widowhood as well as I did, without you. It's been eight years. I will never forget you. ❣️ (Oh, Go, CHIEFS!)

I have a hand grinder (old school), the attachment for my KitchenAid (I actually like it for small batch sausage making, think five to ten pounds), but the big lem, is much better for larger scale tasks, not that I have used it in the past 7 years, as I gave it to my nephew for processing his...

Steady is moving in with me. Into the house that Gravy and I thought would be our forever home. I have so much crap in it that needs relocation or tossed, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I tease, I tease... Schnuck's. It is not their brand, just one of many good frozen pizza brands they carry. 6 bucks is amazing. The Pep's are really, really good. Baked properly, we have been able to get the crust crispy and the cheese golden. Seriously good and so inexpensive.
