Am I the only one whose first computer game was the Oregon Trail? C"mon, admit it, it"s ok. You are not alone.

I loved that game so much. Who needs people in the seats?

Um, wrong. I almost always pick a tank class, yet I hate the holy type warrior and dark knight. I don"t see why "tanks" would care less about flavor. It"s not like they are a completely different category of gamer.

Maybe they didn"t do it well, but this sounds a lot like Gnomeregan. The EQ nostalgian is running pretty strong in this thread lately - I think people are pretty hard on WOW"s starting areas - some were very good and some where not, just like EQ. Toxxulia forest sucked dick, and you got out...

Just cap the %s and get it over with. Once people are at or around the caps, they will balance their gear with other stats so they don"t go over the cap. Cap crit at 50% or whatever. Dodge at 25%, parry 25%, etc, etc. It"s exactly like hit rating is in WOW right now. People get near the cap and...

I know those who dislike crafting think that the people who do like it are just strange. The fact is, if you make a crafting system that isn"t geared for the hardcore crafter you"re just wasting your time. WoW"s crafting is the perfect example. Instead of aiming for a crafting system that...

That"s pretty fuzzy math right there. If you"re going to count every drop, you have to count every badge - unless every person is getting 62 purple drops? Naxx is some 62 purple drops and some 25 x 16 = 400 badges. The dropped loot is usually better though and covers more slots.

I would argue that it WAS involving and interesting for every single character. When we all first picked up WOW, those starting areas got you hooked. Now, it"s been done and copied a thousand times, it"s all old news. The first time in though, it was epic. Wow, I actually do quests, get rewards...
