1. Once Upon A Time in Hollywood
2. Joker
3. The Irishman

Still have to see:
Little Women
Marriage Story
1917
Parasite

pretty boring year in movies. although most years i only have seen like 10% of oscar movies, this year i've seen like 80% of them thanks to A-List and more mainstream noms. no "slavery is bad, mmmk" or "being straight is not normal" movies

like most years i guess this will be one we mostly forget movie wise, except for End Game, Joker, and maybe Midsommar, Lighthouse, Uncut Gems, and Parasite.

Uncut Gems seems to have been completely ignored.

also fuck Pain and Gain, another movie about how hard life is for Hollywood insiders and how amazing they are for overcoming obstacles like getting old

I have never spoke with anyone who thinks Once upon a time in Hollywood was worth watching, everyone wanted their time back.

Not so bad list, especially seeing actors nominations on the list. Still have some movies to watch tough.

I'm so out of touch. I haven't seen one movie that was nominated. I need to at least watch Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Irishman, Ford vs. Ferrari, and Joker.

I actually expected Taron Egerton to get a nom for Rocketman as well as Awkwafina who were both recognized by the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild.

Not nominating Frozen 2 for animated feature seems very strange as does not nominating Beyonce for her new Lion King song. That move alone cost the network a chunk of viewers who would have just tuned in to see her perform.

Irishman was at least 30 minutes too long and wasnt that great. There are many better versions that have already been done. The Oscars are a joke and have been for a long time.

If I had to do my ranking of these movies, I would just flip your 5 that you seen as my bottom 5, with 1, 2 and 3 being Parasite, Little Women and 1917. And a big gap between those 3 and Ford V Ferrari and Marriage Story and Jojo, then the other 3 distant behind those. Mostly because I liked The Lighthouse more than any of Joker, Irishman and OUaT.

Greta Gerwig not getting a director nom is probably a pretty big snub, I could see her winning for Adapted Screenplay though.

Awkafina was great in The Farewell, but I don't know if she was better than all the other Best Actress noms as I haven't seen a few of them.

AMC A-List and living next to a theater sure has made it easy to see all of these movies, which is nice.

So, the awards all bullshit, it's an industry thing, whatever. I'm not mad at them but I don't put any stock in them either.

That said, any contest of actoring that doesn't address what Willem Dafoe did in The LIghthouse is just incorrect.

Once upon a time, Joker and 1917 were all excellent. Going to watch Parasite this weekend as well as I hear it's very good. Decent year in movies, love how upset everyone is that no women are up for the director gong - direct a good movie, simple

Most critics I saw were complaining about Scorsese instead of Greta Gerwig for Little Women.
