Pinochet was all those things as well. Was he also a leftist?
He wasn't utopian or totalitarian. Being pro-markets is not exactly feels based. He was top-down and authoritarian though I'll grant you, and it's arguable whether he was revolutionary or specifically counter-revolutionary, which I would argue that he was. Not sure if he thought-policed or not. I suppose he probably did to a certain extent in the direction of his local Bolsheviks.

Good question though Xeq. You've got my noodle cooking. Perhaps my definition of Left needs refinement.

To me it is the thing that started just prior to Bastille Day at the Tennis Court Meeting during the Estates General at Versailles.

The prior peasant revolutions of Rome, England, and the US were more liberal and republican than utopian and totalitarian. The French, to my mind, started the wave and the wave still has not died out yet. It most recently came ashore in Venezuela.

That is the Left to me. It is not Liberal, it is totalitarian and social-constructionist. Once the Left had taken control of the Revolution, it gave itself over to Robespierre who, quoting directly from Rousseau, went on to institute state-terror in order to solve problems.

Marx and Hitler and Lenin and Mao were all just caught up in the same vision. They had differing interpretations of the holy words, but they all took them to heart. So was Pinochet a Leftist? I think not. I think he was sinking to their level in order to beat them.

By the way I think the fundamental philosophical mistake the French Left had gotten wrong when they chopped off the King's head, was that equality and liberty are mutually exclusive. Their slogan was 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, but two of those things cannot exist at the same time. The feminists chopped the Fraternity out of it long ago so all we are 'left' with (heh) is a choice between Liberty and Equality. To me, that's no choice at all.

Pinochet was pretty totalitarian, though probably not utopian. I think you're making the mistake of not separating social and economic issues, and not realizing that authoritarian governments purging opposition isn't right or left, it's just something authoritarian governments do. The USSR's genocides were caused by broken far-left economic policy. The economic policy of the Nazis was also left wing, they were the national socialists after all, but it wasn't so far left that they starved people to death via broken economics. Saying "they were both left wing" based on economic policy completely ignores how the Nazi genocides were due to far-right social policy. Pinochet combined right wing social policy with right wing economics, there was nothing left wing about him.

comparing pinochet to hitler (or any of the left wing fascists) is fucking retarded in both scope and scale

For anyone interested, i'll give you three guesses as to why Xeq jumped on pinochet so quickly.

Because for a decade after his rule, Chile continued to be the best economically performing south american country and Xequecal Xequecal correctly correlates right-wing economic policies with wide-spread economic success.

Yes, Pinochet was not on the scale of Hitler. This is obvious, I really should not need to mea culpa point this out every time to not get dogpiled over it. His helicoptering people was still borne out of right wing social policy, so the point is relevant. The difference between Pinochet and Hitler was that Pinochet pushed right wing economics and Hitler had left wing.

Third generation survivor of an event that occurred 70 years before this guy was born. lol.

I am so sick and tired of all Jews leaning on the Holocaust constantly to defend any action they do. It's infuriatingly stupid. I am sure they'll be doing the same shit for the next forever anyway.

If your ethnic group was murdered by other groups every few decades over the period of 2000 years, would you not teach your children about such events in order to insure survival? Jews will continue leaning on memories of past atrocities because goys can't help themselves and the next pogrom is always right around the corner.

I can't take someone seriously who refers to themselves as a third generation survivor of an event that occurred 70 years before their birth. That just makes you a douchebag for trying to guilt me into whatever you're talking about. Because you're angling that I should have sympathy for you for something you never went through and I had nothing to do with.

Shit's dumb and I have no respect for it.

I am not a 3rd Gen survivor as that sounds fucking retarded. I am however someone whose great grand fathers were placed on the front lines in ww2 as part of the Russian penal battalions not because they were criminals but because they were Jews. Someone whose grandfather's entire family, other than the aforementioned great grandfather, was lost to concentration camps in East Europe; the only reason he survived is that some random lady took care of him and saved his life. My grandfather went on to become head of engineering in a major city in ukraine, where after coming up with a plan to save city money on a major sewer renovation project and receiving a tiny monetary award for it, he was investigated by KGB that called this award a bribe and bot because it was one but because his passport said "jew" in it. My mother could not get into college because all Jews were automatically failed out during entrance exams. My step dads aunt was one of the first women executed by the firing squad in USSR. I can gon and on about shit like this. The entire history of my family is full of atrocities and hardships due to our ethnicity. And every single Jewish family that exists today is full of stories that are same or much worse.

You think this shit doesn't get passed down from parent to child every chance possible? Holocaust and similar events are alive in the Jewish mind because we all relive it every other family gathering. We must relive it if we are to survive. So don't be surprised that some snowflake feels the knowledge they must carry in order to avoid the next genocide makes them a victim. They are just weak minded.

None of that has anything to do with me and the only reason to tell people this is to engender sympathy. For whatever reason you need sympathy. Which is what I was criticizing in the first place.
