Showtime said the same thing about Ray Donovan when they cancelled it. But there hasnt been a word on it since. And that show was actually good.
It was definitely mostly good, but it certainly had moments that I felt deserved being cancelled. If you didn't have Voight, that show would've been absolute dogshit. He carried the fuck out of it for a good while.

It had like 30-50% filler episodes the last two seasons. The plot points are good, but it's all the world building that no one gave a fuck about. They really, really should do a 2 hour special or some shit to finish this. They're so fucking close and now it's going to blue balls people who actually cared.

The trans-fun-fuck-festival was a bit much. They definitely could've stuck more with tell than show in that episode.

Does nobody in Hollywood see the trend of shows bombing after adding political messages in later seasons that were absent in the first season(s)? It's so fucking obvious blah

They realize, but they also know that even floundering they're still making money. It won't be until there isn't money to support their messaging that anything at all will change. But in this day and age of streaming wars, providers are so desperate for content they're not exercising as much "quality control".
