This is weird enough for me to watch, so I'm in.

Also Jesse Plemons has grown on me. He can deliver some interesting performances.

I don't even think of him as Fat Matt Damon anymore.

Ive avoided everything with Stavros Halkias since he was on JRE talking about how hot trannies are.

I thought he was pretty great in Let's Start a Cult. Not a great movie but he did a good job getting some laughs out of me

Saw this yesterday, didn't realize it was opening weekend so it was busier than I expected. There isn't much to say about the movie itself without risk of spoiler. The short version is I really enjoyed this film. Plemons and Stone were stellar. Stavros is a pretty minor roll, so don't let that put you off much. The autist also did a great job, had to Google if it was real or act (real).

I only have two notes, but no real complaints. The first is it is a bit of a slow burn for the first half. Not terribly slow, but it very much sets up some contrast for the back 9.

They really didn't pull any punches either once things got rolling. When it hits you what Don is about to do, just before gun to head, I gave an audible 'oh no'. Plemons actually anti-freezing his own mother. Shovel to the skull of the police. Kneecap, ouch.

Her continually getting the better of them physically was funny to me. Getting the sweep > cross-collar choke was great.

I would have been fine with multiple ending choices. Would the anti-freeze actually be the cure and a happy alien ending? I'm on board. Would the discovery of the research / autopsy room prove Plemons was flat crazy? I'm on board. But boy, her being an alien and the teleport closet being real very much tickled me.

My last note is that the aliens were, just a bit, too cartoony. I get what they were going for so I was fine with it. Old school sci-fi vibe for sure. I didn't want it to be too serious. The last montage of dead humans was...fine? Maybe it was song choice that threw it off.

I want other people to see this to understand if I'm the weird one for liking it. Now I need to go watch Kinds of Kindness and Poor Things as I haven't gotten around to them.
