Looking for a digital picture frame that does not require internet access for storage or an app that requires a subscription. The one I have, a Nixplay, was fine until they informed me they will now be charging me a monthly fee for cloud storage. I want one that can run off an SD card or whatever and has features that I can access from my laptop or phone via WIFI. Any suggestions? I don't want to pay anything beyond the initial purchase price.

I see it’s been a while since this was posted, but I’m curious—any updates from folks using newer digital frames lately? I’m looking at a Skylight or maybe a Nixplay, but I’m wondering if the subscription costs are worth it long term. Also open to other options if anyone’s found something solid that doesn’t need a constant Wi-Fi connection.

I got one for my parents a few months ago, and setup was super quick. They’re terrible with tech, but once it was synced with Wi-Fi, I just used Nixplay Frames | #1 Selling Digital Picture Frame | On Sale to upload pics from my phone, and they show up right away. You can invite others to send photos, too, which made it easy for the whole family to pitch in without bugging anyone.
