I've been tossing around a few ideas. To keep the porn viruses from coming to this site, I've been thinking about putting a wall between the public an the PGT and Animated Gif thread. Something like $3/mo or something annual. This will keep bandwith down, I can up the upload size, and it will take care of some server costs.
Quarantining the porn also helps get more advertisement down the road.

Allowing attachments and not allowing image linking in those threads eliminates the viruses. You aren't getting viruses from jpegs, you are getting viruses from hotlinking images.

As Req said, advertisers won't touch porn and that's why he was coming out of pocket $800 a month. The PGT thread is pretty much costing 10k a year.

Draegan, in addition to sectioning off the SS/RR forum (Which are the only NSFW forums on the site) what would you think about removing image attachments? Using imgur is about as easy as using the image attachment system.

I just want to corral all the porn all over the place. If you want this place to stay up, then we're going to need advertisers and shit down the road most likely. I also have plans, if the place receives excess revenue to put it back into the community. I have some ideas, but they are sekret.

Most of the people who view the PGT are not site members - yet they take up the majority of the bandwidth. Though Wolfen should probably get a free pass ;-)
As I said on the hoofshots thread - Req would have cared more about the site if he was making some money from it. I'm okay with 9.99 a year if it means not going back to fohguild - I'm done with the bullshit there
