Looks like a new D&D movie on the way with Chris Pine starring. Looks like it will actually have a decent budget, unlike the ones a few years ago. I really wish they went Forgotten Realms though. Michelle Rodriguez and the kid from the Detective Pikachu movie are also on board so far.

Based on the cast it sounds like its gonna be a goofy fun flick and less fantasy GoT style. Either way Im excited.

So doing a little digging it looks like this is Forgotten Realms and that it will focus on the Eye of Vecna.

Our source indicates that Dungeons & Dragons will feature a group of adventurers led by Raven Hightower, a warrior with a magic flamesword that's haunted by his sister's death. Other characters include the "half-dragon" Hack Karroway, the gnome thief Olivan Trickfoot, and a masked warrior named Alyssa Steelsong who is set to take over Palarandusk's role when the dragon dies. Additionally, the main villain of the movie is a male drow named Razer Horlbar who once kept Raven and his sister as slaves, along with a female tiefling named Damala and a brutish warrior known only as "The Beast."

Palarandusk is a Forgotten Realms named dragon.

I never watched the third one, but the second one was actually very enjoyable and clearly made by people actually familiar with Dungeons and Dragons. It even had a teleport mishap!

It was basically on par with mid tier ScyFy crap circa 2010 or so-- watchable after smoking 2-3 blunts.

The Eye of Vecna. AKA the blatant rip-off of Michael Moorcock's Corum.

Movie sounds like hot garbage.
