thats the original for me and im not nearly that old. it played on Saturday or Sunday mornings during the 70s and its amazing how much Star Wars "borrowed" from it. there was also Buck Rogers which had the same star, Buster Crabbe. i mean thats how all of this started. Lucas wanted to remake Flash Gordon, he tried to buy the rights to the film and was refused, so he made his own version and called it Star Wars. i guess after its success, the studio/person who owned the Flash Gordon IP decided, "ahh fuck, i coulda been rich" so they sold Flash G off for whatever they could get.

The only way this would work is if they cast Rebel Wilson as Flash Gordon.
